Just stopping in to say thanks to all of our supporters. We are in limited Beta right now and the application is nearing it's release.

As always, check out http://www.starplayr.com for the latest.

Thanks again to everyone.

I love starplayr, even if I have to use it in Windows for XM.

Oh hey, now I don't have to. :) Yay Leopard XM.

Looking forward to starplayr for Blackberry.

Looking forward to starplayr for Blackberry.

We have StarLightXM for Mac that supports both Sirius and XM on Mac.

BlackBerry is under way... some minor hurdles so far.

That's what I meant, StarLight XM. But I stink. It works nice, PAD data on R&F ch202 is updating just as fast as on my Inno.

I'm sure your release when you guys get it out will blow away the official XM Blackberry app. Its only got 20 channels and costs $6 a mo.

Definitely... ours will be a one time purchase and will offer all channels they currently stream over the internet... plus have album art, lyrics, etc.

Will we be able to listen to live sports games (NBA)?

Will the sound quality be as good as the internet streams? I know the XM BlackBerry app was aweful. The sound was so badly compressed it made it sound so tinny.

It will sound as good as the internet streams if at all possible. I believe the sound quality issue lies in their need to transcode which we will be avoiding if at all possible.

Most of the sports channels aren't available online, for XM anyway.

The newer Blackberries - the ones with names - can play WMA files and support streaming audio in the browser, hopefully that will negate the need to transcode :)

Any hints on what the 1 time price will be for the app?

To be honest it is too early to tell. It depends on how many man hours need to go into it. I can tell you the RIM SDK is not that great, and their developer support is poor at best (or at least the support they are willing to give me.)

iPhone we have an idea but are not ready to announce the price just yet.

Will you be able see what's playing on each channel while browsing the channel listing? Kinda like how it works on the actual receiver.. you can see the channel name, band name, or song name I think.

So glad to hear this app is coming out now i will die every day it is not out . Only thing about knowing something is coming is not knowing when :D . I just wish sirius would add some sports channel so i could listen to my notre dame football next year when the wife drags me to disney on saturdays.

Any way we can get a notification by email or something when this is out? And this requires an account right? I have an account with Sirius, so I have no worries. I just want to listen to Howard Stern on the go :)

Can you please give us a hint to a timeframe for its release.

i dont understand all of the hush hush, a ballpark estimate for price and release date will cause no harm, i mean we are the buyers here and regardless if you tell us now or later what it costs those who want it..want it...and those who dont...dont.

every place i read about this has the main person in charge holding back on a release date but simply saying soon...if you are so confident on its soon release date then what is wrong with saying "by the end of january" or "the end of february"?

Nice idea but without live sports it is pretty useless to me. I know this is a XM/Sirius but live sports is not streamed via the internet.

exactly my thoughts. I'm not currently a sirius/xm subscriber, but would be happy to plunk down money for a subscription if I could listen to live NBA games on my iPhone.
