We can't PM new members either, you will just have to post 5 times and wait a day. No big deal, get to work, post.

That's unfair though because you're talking about one specific station/feed/stream in that app. There are hundreds (if not more) streaming music stations available through FlyCast (which is the app in question... it's on the app store).

Wont matter anyways.... Reports just came out that Sirius is pending a bankruptcy filing that would be probably announced tomorrow if not before the end of the week.

This app sadly may be a little too late especially at the $12 price point (when their other clients are free) if Sirius|XM files for Bankruptcy people will be leaving in droves due to prices probably going up and much of the talent getting the axe etc.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

You have to love posters like Goodeye. First they do charge for those other apps. Second just because a company is bankrupt doesn't mean the shop closes. Gotta' love the drive by posts with no fact. What exact study shows people will leave in droves? SIRIUSXM is one of the largest subscription based media services with 18+ million listeners, and SIRIUS XM has been in doom for a while. How come they havent left yet?

Plus $12 is nothing, if you can afford a month of SIRIUSXM you can buy this app, which allows you to listen anywhere service is provided. Some people on these boards, and on the interwebs in general always complain about pricing, nobody forces anyone to buy anything. I beta test this app, it is phenominal, if you have a sub, this is the best radio app available. It is unreal, this and Pandora are heads and above anything else you will be offered. Just on content alone SIRIUSXM stands above.

Congrats to Dave and the Nicemac/uSirius/Geekstoolbox team. I can wait to purchase the app after all the beta goodness they have given me.

SiriusXM won't be going anywhere. What they need to do is get rid of a lot of their DJ's...we don't need them to tell us whats coming on because of the pad data, and I really don't care what they think of the music. Also, hoo hoo Howie needs to take a giant pay cut and maybe sell his house in the Hamptons. And, there may be some more commercials on some of the music stations for a bit. But Mel needs to stop giving away these large contracts.

Sirius XM Prepares Bankruptcy Filing :
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/11/technology/companies/11radio.html

No, this doesn't mean sat radio will be going away... but there are likely some big changes coming. With this coming, the bad economy, and Sirius-XM already announcing a fee increase for online listening, this is obviously not the ideal time to be releasing the app. I also agree that the $13 charge for the app is too high.

I've been a Sirius subscriber for years and I love it... but like others have said, you can set Orb up to stream sirius for free. They would reel in a lot more people if the app was $5 or less.

Them filing bankruptcy is a smart thing considering their insane debt load. It'll give the company a chance to restructure.. I think they will be just fine..

It wont go away yet no.... But things just keep getting worse and worse and worse for them.....

I am really upset about the 12 price I really wanted to use this program and I know its a one time price. But with Sirius up'ing subscriptions costs and now charging for internet radio the whole 12 dollars just for this program leaves a bad taste in my mouth...

I bet apple will not approve this app until they are sure that people will not be buying a 12.99 app that will not work if they go away. Everyone will want their money back and Apple will have to deal with that. Apple does not want that. I bet is way into March before this thing is approved.

And the app to get stern works for me.....

I can understand that logic but I'm not sure that anyone could make a claim against Apple about this (though I'm sure many would). They could always add a disclaimer if they were concerned.
Also, even Sirius XM files for bankruptcy today I don't think it would have any immediate affect on a lot of the programming and it would be several months (at least) before any significant changes are made... I'm just guessing though.

I hope that this is approved before April 1st. I was looking at satellite radios just last weekend. I haven't bought one as yet and after reading about this, i don't think that I will. I can get this and then just get an adapter to listen to iphone over the radio. I think they have an adapter for that. Sorry I am sleep typing right now and don't know what in the heck I am saying.
