When purchasing my new iPP 12.9 Wifi/Cellular, Apple indicated that Verizon is offering $200 in credit after activating on an existing plan.

Can anyone tell me now to do this? I can’t figure out where to fill out the form on Verison.

Thanks!

So when you go here and login, there's nothing that points you to a promotional application? I don't have a Verizon account so I can't login.

The deal doesn’t show up for me yet, giving it a couple days before I call support.

I don't see it either. I'm going to wait another day or two.

It’s shameful. I asked both Verizon and apple and both are clueless. I wouldn’t count on the $200.

What’s the general code because they were clueless and just sent me a link to the rebate page which was useless

I called Verizon and they said they were not aware of any promo. I contacted Apple and asked if there was some kind of reference ID for the promotion that I could give the VZW tech support and they said no and that it should be in My Verizon. (sigh) Kind of lost now. I also find working with Carriers to be a frustrating experience.

Ive got an important update for you guys. My offer to do the rebate never showed up at my account. I searched Verizon’s website and found it linked me to

www.yourdigitalrebatecenter.com

There, I entered the promo code that was provided above UNLOCKEDIPAD200

That enabled entry of data for submission for getting the rebate. I needed to provide my name, email address and the phone number attached to the ipad. I had to look up the number that they attached to it in mydevices on verizon.

Once finished with entering the data, I had to read and agree to the terms and conditions and submitted my request for rebate.

Wow thank you all so much! I was very confused trying to figure this out yesterday and the steps provided save a call to Verizon. I can confirm it works perfectly!

It’s a shame that they make it so difficult. I wonder how many people will forget about it or give up and not get their $200.

Thanks to everyone who provided information. I too am now all set up. Wonderful how we users help each other

The deal is only if you bought through Apple. Supposedly the IMEI number of the iPad traces back to Apple to verify.

So what incentive is it to buy it through Verizon than. I’m paying $200 more just for buying it through Verizon.

That's probably Verizon's goal.

The process was super smooth on T-Mobile and took me all of 10 minutes including activating the new line on the iPad. They'll also text me my gift card so I'm not waiting in the mail and I don't have to keep the iPad line once I get the gift card. Couldn't be happier.

Possibly none? You'd have to see if Verizon has promos on their site for ones purchased through them.

To answer they "why" question... Other carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T were doing it via Apple so Verizon wanted to be included in the marketing campaign from Apple alongside other carriers.

Verizon usually offers $100 off standard with device installment plans. Also, their discount works for both add-a-line and upgrades of existing iPad lines.

As far as I can tell, the Apple deal was add-a-line only. I tried looking for the full terms and conditions/fine print but it’s hard to find info (e.g. is the promo void if I cancel my existing iPad line and activate a new one for the 2021 Pro?). The other tablet promos on Verizon I’ve found all mention promo void if any line on the account is cancelled within a certain period.

I’m calling Verizon now, Right after purchasing I saw the Apple offer and called and was told by a rep the Verizon had the same offer threw them and he is supposed to called me in a few days to help me with that. But I don’t have much patience. Lol. Would not make since to not give it to everyone when we are all paying the same price.

What carriers do and what makes sense is rarely in alignment. Good luck and I hope you're able to get the rebate.

Also worth noting the little bit I saw in the Fine Print on Apple's website regarding the Promo. For Verizon you need to hold onto the tablet line on the promo eligible rate plan for 1 year. Otherwise they'll claw back the rebate by adding it to your Verizon bill. That's pretty useless of a rebate unless you're 100% sold on the cellular.

On Apple’s side its still so vague regarding whether it required a new line or not. I had an existing line (upgrade ready line too) and bought unlocked from Apple. Verizon rep said I wouldn’t be eligible, but I completed the promo form anyway, so we’ll see 🤷🏻‍♂️

I saw ATT had the same dumb rule too but instead it was 30 months $5 each month. Does T-Mobile actually give you a deal with signing up? Because keeping the service on it going for months is a hell of a lot more money than $200 e gift card.
