I expected some problems since w didn't make the order until today but actually it worked out great. Had I ordered it yesterday I would have had a serious conflict if it had delivered on the 22nd becaue I have to stay home waiting for a seafood order for my SO's birthday on that day.

This way my new toy won't overshadow his birthday dinners of blue crab, steak, lobster tails and Maryland crab cakes the following day. :)

Traded in my 11 Pro Max 256 for the 15 Pro Max 512 for the $830 trade in credit. Not bad for an extra $15/month. Guess I'll wait for iPhone 19 or iPhone 20 now 😂

Really didn't need to get rid of the 11 pro max, but didn't want to miss out on getting the max amount for trade in. Love the green...if only they brought that back.
Does it provide the exact amount you will receive when you are ordering or do you have to send the device and then just wait it out to see what they give you? Thanks

Hopefully this isn’t going to be too long, but last summer in August my husband and I made a mistake and switched to T-Mobile. It was awful. I was with Verizon for 14 years and I wasn’t too keen on switch but my husband wanted to “save money” so let’s get the cheaper service. And we got what we paid for. So in December we switched back to Verizon and put it in his name and now I’ve lost all my perks of being a loyal customer. Well we ended up trading our T-Mobile phones in and getting the $1000 credit for each line. Now if I want to upgrade I have to pay $333 and some change to get to 50% and upgrade. When I go try to do that online and get it in my cart it shows I have to pay full retail on the 15 Pro Max. I’m so frustrated and have no idea why I can’t do a device payment plan for the new phone. I guess I have to muster up the courage to call customer service (anxiety disorder). This is the first year in 10+ years I haven’t gotten a release day phone.

this doesn’t have anything to do with loyalty I’ve been a Verizon customer for many years the policy has been like that for a while You can’t upgrade unless your phone is at least 50% paid off regardless of how long you’ve been with Verizon

When I was checking how much I owed to get to 50% last month it gave me the amount and date I was eligible for upgrade. I think it was exactly 1 year after I purchased my 14PM. It was the first time in 6 years of annual upgrades the I’ve seen a eligibility date.

Oh I know that, I’m just confused as to why I can’t do a device payment plan if I pay up to 50% when I click the option that says “return and upgrade”.
that does seem a little odd that they are making you pay full price for the 15 PM. Maybe it is because you're still a new customer? I would try to chat with them first and if that didn't work out try to call and be brave :)

Does anyone know if all iphones bought from Verizon have the 60-day lock? Didn't get to pre-order on time, but verizon has better shipping time quotes than Apple Store, but I would like to use my phone abroad.

This was the only reason why I preorder through Apple for the fun of tracking from China to the US, but this year’s preorder showed that Verizon was more prevalent than Apple, and probably would’ve been less stressful for me.

Thanks! Just for clarification, had I bought an iPhone from Apple, but then activated it on my current Verizon plan, my phone would still be locked under the 60 days? So it wouldn't have mattered either way if I bought it from Verizon or apple?

Man that sucks.

okay, so Apple isn't part of Verizon's "Retail partners" that lock their iphones then? Got it.

I'm a bit more annoyed now with how much of a dumpsterfire the Apple site was during pre-order haha.
Thanks for the help!

You’re welcome. Yes it was a dumpster fire for sure. Even time slots for ISPU were slipping fast. I wanted to continue avoiding Verizon’s $35 upgrade fee, but I don’t have any problem paying it if I don’t have to deal with Apple’s servers crashing.

Got on chatted with with someone and they got it all done for me and I’ll be getting a 256 gb 15 Pro Max in Natural Titanium on Oct 6. It’s not on release day but I think I can be patient a couple weeks. I’ll spend my time checking the forums and YouTube for unboxings!

Yea, this means that you will have paid for 50% of the phone and agree to send it back to Verizon.

Sorry want to check on this. Are you saying if I purchase full price unlock phone from Apple and activate it with my Verizon sim, Verizon won’t charge $35 upgrade fee? Just want to double check this is true. Thanks.

Yes, I know. The initial problem was that when I tried to do it online to pay 50%, return my phone, and upgrade, it wasn’t giving the option for device payments on the new phone. I was afraid I wasn’t going to be to upgrade at all because I can’t afford to pay for the phone outright. I probably didn’t explain my situation very well. Lol
