If you haven't got tracking yet, you might be able to find it on Fedex/UPS by doing a track by reference. For example, if your Verizon order # is 123456 then do a track by reference on Fedex/UPS but use 9 digits so it will be 000123456, add 0s as padding. maybe it'll help. :)

I can find how to track by reference on Fedex but how do you do it with UPS?
 
I finally got notice a FedEx shipping label was created. Still no tracking info yet though. But that is progress!
 
i'm not worried about the arriving on time (as it basically always has). As soon as i see the package has been picked up by fedex / UPS, then i know that there's an iPhone somewhere with my name on it. Before that, I get worried that they'll run out of phones for launch day even though i show as a launch day arrival time.

I just talked to my UPS guy and asked if he was ready for iPhone deliveries on Friday. He was like "is that this Friday?". So I guess they're not concerned and its nothing compared to the holidays.
