Apple never ever documents their bug fixes. They always keep their 'changes' very nebulous and vague.

I was hoping phone speakerphone would be louder, but doesn't sound like it. Ipod and youtube volume seem pretty loud though. They seem louder to me.

I was never able before to get a song in iTunes to play all the way through without stopping if I was simultaneously browsing in Safari.

Just applied the update.

This was the first thing I tried. Started a song playing and visited multiple websites that have stopped the music before. I also opened multiple windows just to work the system harder.

The song played all the way through, flawlessly.

Looks like this issue might be fixed?!?!?!

This update thing is fun. It's almost like Christmas. It's exciting to see an update and apply it, knowing that your iPhone will only get better and better. And all we've seen so far are bug fixes.

Just imagine how exciting it will be when the first new "official" icon pops up on the main menu!

Just think, we have gotten use to the low ringer and call volume and we are getting use to not having custom ring tones, and we can over look this small flaw and that one, and when these things are fixed (hopefully in one fail swoop of an update) it will be like getting a new phone all over again!!! Awwhhh the day when it all comes together, so glorious and so peaceful, everyone will bow to the Iphone and every tongue confess that it is The King, The Ruler, of all Phones.

Won't it be glorious!!

Ok, so I am just really board at work!

Hopefully you aren't describing iPhone v.2.0

I wonder why Apple doesn't release changelists.

I've only encountered two very annoying bugs that I hope are fixed:

1) iPod crashing when browsing in Safari
2) the iPod forgetting my current location in podcasts and restarting from the beginning

Hopefully you aren't describing iPhone v.2.0

No v3.0 HAHA! no I don't believe in the next version till it is out, I believe we will have all these fixes about the time Leopard comes to our doors!

I got excited really quickly ... then ... well ... I'm not too excited now. Waiting for something big!! C'mon Apple!!

i keep getting an error after the update downloads in itunes but before it loads onto my phone:

"there was a problem downloading the iphone software....An unknown error occurred (-48).

Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again."

anyone else?

Its modded so you need to restore to factory then apply

By far the most impressive thing about the iPhone update process to me is the fact it looks like it's really just updating the files it needs rather than installing an entire new image. i.e. Similar to the way PCs/Macs do updates.

One thing I hated about Blackberry updates is that it basically just reflashes the entire device with a new image so each update was like 80mb...with iPhone it looks like they'll always be rather small files.

This update took 4 mins from the moment I clicked download and install to when my iPhone finished rebooting. Super smooth and super fast...didn't lose anything and it feels snappier.

So glad I still haven't modded. Anyone try modding after the update?

my progress bar has been sittng at the same spot for the past 10+ minutes... its right under the a on "Updating iPhone firmware..."

sigh, does it take this long?

my iphone is stock and not hacked...

I just downloaded and installed with no problems. I did not mod my iPhone. The first thing different I've noticed is that my airport reception is far improved. For whatever reason, even when in the same room as my base station I would only get 1-2 bars of Airport reception. Now I have full reception everywhere in my condo. Not sure if the reception is really any better or if the indicator is fixed.

sigh my phone is stuck on the 'updating iphone firmware screen' its been almost 20 minutes, and no progress...

what should i do???

1) iPod crashing when browsing in Safari

I was on the phone with Apple support Wednesday(powerblock quit working). I reported this bug. The guy hadn't herd of this issue. Was ready to ship me a loaner and have me ship my phone. Timing wasn't convenient so I didn't take him up on the offer, yet.

So, Apple isn't admitting this issue is a bug. Maybe it is hardware, especially when you read here that many are not having this crash. If you have the safari crash, especially after 1.0.2, I suggest calling Apple and have them 'fix' your phone. I still think it's software, but apparently not enough people are reporting it to apple.

I'm hoping 1.0.2 fixes it, but I said the same about 1.0.1.
