Overall I am loving iOS 10, but in my opinion the UI is starting to feel disjointed/bloated/inconsistent in a few places. Specifically the Apple Music App, oh I mean the Music app, swiping right into the camera but having to use the Home button to go back, and the lack of Notification stacking/grouping which causes a lot of wasted space.

Didn't vote because I have two different experiences. Aside from the music app which is the first Apple app I've actually hated, iOS 10 is great on my iPhone SE. Fast, smooth, and seemingly bug free.

My iPad Pro 9.7" is quite buggy and stutters quite a bit.

I absolutely hate it. As an iPod touch (which still has a 4" screen) user, it's clear this update benefits iOS users with larger screens and TouchID.

And quite right too. No point wasting time optimising it for ancient hardware that's almost obsolete. Developers should invest their development time taking advantage of current hardware & features that most people have adopted.

That's just how it goes I'm afraid.

But what about the iPhone SE?

I personally haven't found much beef with spacing/things being squished on my 5S. But I'm sure it would look nicer on a larger screen.

This is not "ancient hardware"; you can still buy it from Apple, and it has the same processor as the iPhone 6. Apple is making software that doesn't work well with this current hardware, and while that's definitely where the money is, it makes for a terrible user experience.

If the thread were titled "What do you think owners of devices optimized for iOS 10 would think of iOS 10," my response would be glowing praise. :p

Nope, that's not good enough, Apple still make smaller screen devices and look set to continue making them well into the future. There's no excuse for the poor design of the Music app, it's just laziness and a lack of care, not something to be encouraged in any developer and not ultimately good for profits.

Ahaha I just opened the Photos app for the first time. Completely forgot about so many iOS 10 features. I'm amazed how well the face recognition works! They're all grouped automatically.

Now I've got an easy-to-view montage of my housemate's steady decline over the years. I really must be grinding him down. He looked so happy in Feb 2015...

Raise-to-Wake is also not enabled on the iPod touch, so every time I want to use it, I home button press, home button press again, and type in my passcode. But I can't double press the home button then type my passcode—there's a delay of unknown duration.

This is a major reason holding me back from iOS 10. I am using an iPhone 6 and not using Passcode or Touch ID which means I have to press home button twice to unlock.

Having phone without passcode is like having both door and gates of your house opened all the time... just matter of time when someone not allowed visit it.

i dont like the new animation. it is too fast and coming back to the homepage you can see the homepage being as a bad resolution, pixelated photo taken from the homescreen.

i would like to see "widget" page being as the main page - not the notification page, which is (always) empty and tellling me "no new noti...." and i never use it anyway. And the notification panel should be scrollable on any way, not only left or right but to the both direction and working like a carousel.

You were amazed by a feature that was introduced by Google Photos long times ago. Wow, just wow.

I like it so far my only complaint is that the notification screen on the iPad is hard to scroll up and down on because they use the sides to scroll left or right. I'm still getting used to it all, but it feels fine on my air 2 and 6s

As the main page, it would be a battery hog for sure. Get a few more friends. That will sort out the blank notifications ;)

I agree, these blank notifications makes me crazy. Before at least reminder was hidden when there was nothing for today - now all of them are huge and empty - what a waste of place!
How can we send them a feedback ? Apple forum or any app to do that? Heard feedback is disabled as well as reviews of apps in AppStore.

By the way, any 'likes' I throw at you doesn't mean I'm revelling in your hatred for iOS 10 (if you're not having a great time with it). I don't agree with all of the points but I appreciate you taking the time to give feedback. It's always interesting to hear different opinions.

A few of my work colleagues updated today and they're quite impressed with the speed changes, though they're not fond of the new lock screen.

I have 2 devices (6S+ as my personal device and a 6S for work). I updated my work device last night via OTA without any probs. So far it seems pretty smooth for a first release. iOS 9 didn't feel like this when it first came out. Granted I don't have a lot of stuff on my work phone, but still seems pretty stable. Will prob update my personal device today or tomorrow. Not a bad update

Weird but it looks like there is significant battery drain when you are on wifi and it's better to be on mobile data. I checked iCloud, syncing, background activity, disabled Siri suggestions, spotlight have only few apps to check (mail, SMS, AppStore...) so all is as it should be - limited
Photo indexing is finished already.

Rise to wake up should not consume battery a lot on SE.

I haven't dug into everything yet, but overall I'm positive on it. I love how much snappier everything feels (I'm on 6S Plus). I'm enjoying the new look of the notifications and am even cool with the widgets page being off to the side because instead of having to pull down and then pick left or right, you can either pull down for notifications or swipe for widgets. Pretty smart.

The whole removal of swipe-to-open is going to take getting used to. I've had moments where I was annoyed by having to basically double-click but other times it seems to work well. Jury's out on that. I do like raise-to-wake to avoid the phone just blowing me onto the home page when I'm trying to just look at my lock screen (first world problem of a blindingly fast TouchID)

I do miss the pull-down reply to incoming-text banners that seems to have given way to a sort of halfway opening of the Messages app. Not sure if I'm describing it right, but it used to be when a text notification dropped down while the phone is unlocked, you could pull it down just a smidge further and get a little blank cursor to type a quick response. Now pulling down on it opens a fullscreen card with a full view of Messages. Just feels slower.

I'm also shaky on the Music app, which looks a lot blander and less exciting/colorful than before, but whatever, as long as the music plays.

I'm generally happy with Messages, though I doubt I'll get a ton of use from all the new apps and stuff for it. I'll send an emoji once in a while, but I don't see myself sending cartoons and scribbles and things very often, but I'm sure a lot of the kids love it.

I love that I was surprised last night with a message from Maps telling me where my parked car was and letting me know it had dropped a pin there. Interestingly it didn't do that when I went to work or went home.. only did it when I stopped somewhere unusual. ***** brilliant, honestly.

I still have a lot more to dig into and check out, but overall everything feels a little faster and I do love that folders and everything are animated much faster than before.

Really?? I have that same iPad, and iOS 10 absolutely flies on it. It's a far, far better experience than 9, and this thing was pretty fast on 9! It also seems to have fixed my springboard crashes, so all the better.

It's also fantastic on my 6s. This is easily my favorite launch iOS update since I got my first iPhone, a 4s.

I'm blaming indexing. Hope I don't have to restore it.

Haven't used it since last night, so maybe it's good now.
