This has to be the funniest poll I've ever taken :D

I think it is a great step forward, but some things could use some tweaking such as: turning snooze off in Bedtime, editing Up Next, gropu notifications, etc. and of course, bugs fixes.

Oh, and removing the damn black filter they added for the homescreen wallpaper. It is like iOS 6 again with the black shadow behind the dock...

I originally only read the first 3 poll options and posted. I just read them all and found myself smiling quite a bit. Especially at the "Ease up..., keys." Apple should have had @keysofanxiety write their MacBook Pro survey!

As for the shadow, I never noticed it because I use dark wallpapers, however I just set a white wallpaper to check and I don't have any shadow around the dock on my SE. Mind posting a screenshot?

It's awesome on my 6s Plus and the new focus on 3D Touch is fantastic.

My iPad Pro though... completely neglected with the exception of some keyboard improvements.

Here's to hoping the next release fixes the clumsy split screen implementation and horrid home screen. Seriously, the home screen on the 12.9" screen is just horrible.

So I tried the messages app a little more yesterday, while FaceTiming a friend. There was a problem where sending game requests would just show as a picture message on his phone and wasn't at all interactive. It transpired that the reason for this was because he had iMessage open on his Mac at the same time -- so possibly the messages were going through to his iMac first, detected them as pictures, and then bounced that back to the server... who knows. But anyway, that's the fix if you have a similar problem.

Gaming is a trifle clumsy on the messages app, where you make your move locally and then send that. It's not as much of an issue with games like tic-tac-toe, but for games like pool, it's always going to be better when it's realtime and you can see what they do, as they do it. Not sure if this is something that Apple will eventually be looking to address.

One or two very slight UI bugs with Messages; the keyboard disappearing now and then when scrolling and processing loads of images. Also sending messages with fireworks seem to happen whenever you open the message, or simply doesn't work at all. But it's a non-issue really. Overall, smooth sailing and undoubtedly the quickest & most stable day-one iOS release I've ever used.

Sure, please take a look at these three scenarios:

Hmmm, I'm afraid I don't see it (but I'm somewhat colorblind). I don't see a shadow effect around the dock. Do you mean the dock is a darker transparent material then before?

iOS 10 is an extremely solid upgrade. Well done Apple.

The only thing I don't like is the new default unlocking mechanism (fingerprint to unlock and THEN you have to push the home button) but it's easy to revert to pre-iOS 10 behavior in accessibility settings so no big deal.

No, the overall wallpaper is quite dimmer, seems to be a shadow filter on top of the wallpaper, looks bad :(

iOS 10 isn't that bad overall but the biggest thing I absolutely don't like is notifications on the lock screen. They do not group together based on app so its just a cluster. Also email notifications lost the ability to delete with a swipe, I like how I can us 3D touch to preview message but some emails are junk and I know I want to delete them right away. I know you can do this when you preview with 3D touch but its more work when you compare to iOS 9.

Although I stand by my initial annoyance with the lock screen (for Christ's sake, they didn't even include the Accessibility > Home Button trick to fix the lock screen on the iPod touch), Apple did really really well with Messages. It's gimmicky and childish as ****, but I love it. It's donned on me—much to my horror—that as someone in my early twenties, I am part of their target demographic.

My favorite messages feature is the ability to add visual effects to video using DigitalTouch:

Words alone cannot describe how fun I find this. Help.

A huge step backwards for notifications.

A huge step backwards on small screens. Everything looks cluttered and waste of space.

iMessage is full of gimmicks and sucks for small screens. That top bar is amazingly huge.

Don't really care about anything else, I like iOS 9 more. Slide to Unlock FTW.

Boy you're a handsome devil, AD!

For what it's worth, my manager at work is 37 years old. He's a grumpy curmudgeon with a great big bushy beard. He absolutely loathes these new iMessage things and was moaning about it yesterday. "Just for kids and teenagers", he grumbled. "Wouldn't see anybody my age doing this."

As fate would have it at that moment -- as if fate itself was poised in anticipation, finger trembling on the trigger for this perfect moment -- a sea of texts from his equally-aged friends arrived on his phone. Full of kisses, words, animations, and unorthodox GIFs; though infinitely more clumsy than your examples, as they didn't really know how to use them properly. Very, very funny to witness. :D

So I'd say the new iMessage stuff seems to appeal to all ages and you needn't feel guilty about indulging in them! The exception to this rule, of course, is my manager. However, he has frequently been described as being "joyless"; a man bereft of joy. As much as I'm fond of him, I'd struggle to disagree with that!

Text selection being fixed is good enough for me. It was incredibly buggy in iOS 9, with selection jumping all over the place like crazy, mainly in Safari.

Haha, wow, that's pretty amazing! It sounds like it couldn't have been better even if it were scripted.

I'm willing to bet that when he thinks he's alone and no one is watching, your manager fires up Messages and plays with the text effects in an ongoing conversation between him and himself, giggling all the while. The charm if iOS 10's messages is just too great; its quirk and polish are reminiscent of the colorful G3 iMacs.
