profile picture problem

Hi, I have a real problem with the profile picture on Viber.

I just installed Viber into my Samsung Galaxy s3 and immediately chose a profile picture from my gallery. Later on, I decided to change my profile pic so I chose a different one from my gallery. I did this about 3 times before I was happy with it.

However, afterwards I went to my pictures gallery and found that all the previous pictures which I had put as my profile pic on Viber have all disappeared. The only one that wasn't deleted was the one I had as my current profile pic.

I decided to experiment and went back to Viber and changed my current profile pic to something else from my gallery. Then I went back to my pictures folder and just as I thought, that previous profile picture has now been deleted.

Do you get what I mean? Every time I upload a picture as my profile pic on Viber, that picture gets deleted from my gallery the minute I change it to something else.

Please help. Please tell me I can retrieve all those pictures back. I'm on the brink of tears because I may have just permanently lost some really nice photos . Thanks.

I have been using viber now for a year. I started out using iphon3Gs, now I have iphone4. I am in Texas, USA, and I use AT&T. I have a fantastic signal everywhere and I have wifi at home with full bars signal. I have Never once had a clear call using viber. I have updated the app every time. I've done everything I possibly can to fix the problem. My fiancé was in Ireland, so I used to think it was his bad signal, however, when we talk, he usually hears me just fine. My viber signal is always full bar green, untill the call connects. Then it drops to almost nothing, or drops the call completely.
My fiancé has now been in 3 different countries and uses a satilite phone. Everyone else I talk to use different phones, different networks....all with the same issue. Can anyone tell me why my viber experience is so terrible?

Sometimes 3G reception could be low, and this is something we cannot control. Naturally this affects Viber's call quality and results in disruptions and broken sound.
We are continuously trying to improve our handling of 3G, so you can expect better performance as newer versions of Viber are released.

Please note that having full 3G reception doesn't mean your internet's bandwidth is at the maximum expected. When you see a "full reception bar", it merely means that physically, your phone is covered with the cellular signal.

When it comes to the bandwidth itself, your connection could still be slow due to various different reasons, such as being in an area with many other users from the same provider, thus congesting the network.

Meanwhile, WiFi- WiFi calls on Viber should generally be very clear and are free of such disruptions.

That's what I'm trying to say. Never, not even once, when using wifi, have I had a good or even OK call using viber. I don't understand why. I get great wifi reception at home, yet the moment a viber call connects, the call quality goes from great to bad. No in between. What am I doing wrong?

Have you tested it on a few different WiFi networks, connected to different ISP's?

Yesterday I was writing to my gf who was in Budapest .when she pressed the blue arrow for location I saw at the map that she was in zurich Swiss .she was there 2 weeks ago.can somebody tell me under which conditions this may hapen?my gf use her phone to speak from viber.

Her location may have not refreshed (it might have been a temporary problem).
Please try rebooting Viber on both phones, then try to disable, the re-enable the location option. Does the location show up fine now?

It could be that the network you are connected to is blocking Viber's traffic.

1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connecting to a few different WiFi networks (in order to pinpoint the source of the problem). What are the results?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled ("forwarded") on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785

(if you are not sure how to enable ports, you may contact your router manufacturer)

Hi,
At the moment, there is no way to delete a specific member from a group chat in Viber. You can leave the group yourself, but the group will still exist and be able to chat with each other.

In the future, we might add that option

What we meant was (and our Privacy Policy completely agrees to that), that Viber does not misuse our users' information. The only "third-parties" to whom we give our users information are SMS providers, for example, who obviously need the number in order to send the SMS with Viber's code to users who register.

In other words, our users' number are passed on to the very minimum companies who provide services that are critical to Viber's very functionality. Those few companies are also obligated to the same terms as ours: to NOT share or abuse this information in any way.

Hence, we replied to wayne1984 that Viber essentially keeps the information locked and does not share it with partners for revenue purposes, or unauthorized parties.

I believe Viber is now being blocked on Smart philippines for those who are using it via 3g. I'm not sure if its only me who is experiencing this problem, but I was able to test that by bypassing that restriction using a VPN while on 3g.

Is there a way to confirm this on your side Viber team?

Viber uses cellular locations in order to update its position, and so it could be that the last location that Viber "remembers" is from 2 weeks ago, when she last registered to a cellular network.

The authorities in the UAE have decided to block Viber in the whole country, and that is why you are experiencing this issue. Unfortunately there is not much we can do to help
You may try contacting the authorities and ask for the reason for this block.

We (as a company) cannot recommend you any way to bypass this block. You may want to contact other Viber users (your friends, or through the internet) to find a solution

I am able to directly make a call to my wife by directly dialing her phone number from within Viber and it works absolutely fine. Just that i don't know why i cannot see her in my contact list automatically.
If i go to all contacts -> My wife's name, it says "Invite to Viber" but as i mentioned above, i can easily call her by directly dialing her number but i cannot dial by using the contacts (which has the same number) and it says whether i want to switch to GSM or not.
