Hi

Im frm abudhabi I m using viber I installed it already and I tried and its working then after my iphone 4s updated into version 5.1.1 (9B206) the connection got in trouble dunno why? And when Im starting to call its not working and always showing that the server has no connection then later on its coming back. I tried to call then later it show redial??? What's going on? Could you please help me for this? And one more thing is accidentally I delete my viber app when I installed again I cant acces the code?? How can I access again??? Please I need your reply ASAP! Thank you

The authorities in the UAE have decided to block Viber in the whole country, and that is why you are experiencing this issue. Unfortunately there is not much we can do to help :(
Try contacting the authorities and ask for the reason for this block.

Names not showing in 'Messages' tab.

Hi Viber,

I'm having a real problem as Viber is only displaying my contacts numbers in the messages tab, and not their names. Obviously this makes it difficult to know who is messaging me without some annoying researching. These are all numbers and names who are already in my phone, and who feature in the 'Viber' tabs of the 'contacts' tab.

This is also an issue in the 'recents' tab - it just shows phone numbers.

The Contacts tab is fine, and displays names as expected.

What can be done to fix this problem, as I love the service?

It does not happen with ALL contacts... although with most of them it is displaying the number instead of the name in the Messages and Recents Tab.

The numbers are in the same format as in my contacts, both within Viber, and my iPhone contacts. There is some difference because iphone contacts sometimes adds spaces and/or brackets, which I have no control over.

I will PM with details as requested.

Please make sure neither you nor the other side are connected to networks that might be blocking Viber (for example - a router running a firewall).

1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connected to different a few WiFi networks. Does it work now?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785

I don't think there was any other app that I installed that started the problem.

I have tested viber on many different networks, and via 3G - none makes a difference.

If I reinstall the app, will I lose all my history? Or is there a way to back it up?

Which device are you using? Which version of operating system?
Have you made sure that this is not a problem that's related to importing contacts from external sources? (for example: sometimes contacts imported from Gmail, Outlook, etc. tend to give this problem).

Lastly, regarding your question: unfortunately yes, when uninstalling/deactivating Viber your message history is deleted. You can export your message history and email it, but importing it back to Viber is not optional at this stage.

My contacts ARE coming in from gmail. How, therefore, can I solve the issue?

Hi Viber, my viber isnt working, i attempt to send a text, it says sending, then later comes back with a failed to send notification and the messege is in red, I am currently in australia, cairns sending to the uk, im using the galaxy s3 on vodafone AU network with full wi fi, ive messed around with my phone to get it to work abroad, roaming, roaming data and the like, is it possible theres a setting ive altered which is stopping viber from working

Please try deleting that contact (the Gmail-imported one) and readd it manually through your phone. Does the problem persist with this specific contact now?

If it does not, then it was a problem with imported contacts, and this problem might not even be related to Viber itself. We recommend that you contact Apple Support and try to see if they can help you solve the problem.

Meanwhile, in order for us to check this matter ourselves, you may contact me via Private Message and give me the numbers themselves, so we could verify that this indeed is not a problem with Viber itself.

1. When I send a message and hit send, it usually takes around 10 seconds for te message to appear in the screen
2. When I hit home and go to other apps, then go back to Viber, it now loads really slow unlike before where I can see the chat window I was in before I went to other apps
3. In general, Viber is considerably slower when I updated to iOS 6
4. And the most problematic issue I have now is I cannot download the pictures being sent to me. It just keeps loading.
I'm now in PH and these were not problems before, only when I update to iOS 6. Help! It has been almost 2 weeks these are happening!

Contacts Not displaying

Hey,

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 5 (and consequently ios6), since doing so my contacts don't display at all and it says that I haven't provided access... The issue is - I have made sure that the privacy settings are right.

I've uninstalled and re-installed and that didn't help.

Any suggestions???

Hi,

I have been trying to use Viber but it keeps saying i do not have internet connection although my internet connection is working perfectly since i am using skype and many other apps over the internet. I am in the UAE in Dubai, could this be the problem? Also, people i have been trying to contact are saying when they try to call me it says i have an old version of Viber although i have the newest and the exact same one as all my contacts who r using it. I've deleted and reinstalled my Viber twice but nothing... Please help

Hello, Recently updated to the new firmware, ever since I cant send/receive messages to my contacts. My question is if im using the new firmware will my contacts still be able to receive/send me messages?

If not how can I downgrade to the older version?

Using an iPhone5 if that helps.

Please install the latest update of Viber on AppStore and let us know of the problem persists.

I already updated to the new Viber version. The slowness of the app has been addressed somehow. The only problem that persisted is downloading of photos. When I hit the photo thumbnail, it still just downloads but the photo does not show nor it is saved in my album.
Any suggestions on how to remedy this glitch?

Hi,
Have you made sure that this is not a network-related issue? You can test it by trying to open photos received through Viber when connecting to a few different WiFi networks.

Also, please make sure that the sender of the photos also has the latest version of Viber installed.

Please let us know if the problem persists after these tests.

Hi Viber, yeah the same problem on all variation of wi fi's, my location comes on, i can recieve and download viber updates but cannot send messeges, is it a packet data problem maybe?

Some mobile operators across the world block Viber on their 3G network (especially Vodafone, mainly in Europe). Usually this happens when users have a "simple" data plan (or a prepaid contract), meaning they didn't pay extra for using VoIP on their 3G network.

In order to verify this, we recommend to:
1. Test Viber on a few different WiFi networks (of different ISP's), and see that it works fine.
2. Contact your cell company and confirm this with them.

I m having such a hard time installing viber !
I live in dubai, i downloaded viber on my iPhone, then it asked me to enter my mobile number where i should be getting "the code" thingi. I entered my number like 100 times in past one week but i got no code ever !!!
Everytine I enter the number i get it says 'the code will be smsed shortly'
And I really dont think this problem has anything to do with viber being blocked in uae.. Cz my freinds r still using it here...
Why me God.. why me :'(

Viber uses approximately 0.3MB per minute of call.
