I couldn't care less about where the writing is when I get mine from ebay, I'm just looking forward to not having my watch laying on it's side when charging overnight.

Much ado about nothing in my opinion. It's something I'll look at maybe one minute out of my day.

Anyone here try to paint one black yet? Or am I the only one who wishes they had a black model?

For what it's worth, the Spigen stand from seller spigen_inc on ebay does not have the writing on top, well, mine didn't. Sells for $19.99 with free shipping.

Nice and sleek little thing, I love mine.

I pre-ordered mine from e-bay, back in mid April. It finally arrived yesterday, and mine DOES have the writing on it. I don't care at all, it doesn't bother me. But I love the stand, very happy with how it looks and how the watch hangs on it.

I think you can contact them and they'll replace it.

Nah, I waited too long for the darn thing to finally show up, I have no issues with the lettering. I just didn't want people to think buying one from e-bay would insure that they get one without it.

I just got my Spigen Apple Watch Stand yesterday, and it's nice. I needed to put the charger in to get my watch to stick to it (42mm milanese). Without the charger the watch will fall off/topple the stand.

Not sure if it'll be stable with my link bracelet, which hasn't shipped yet.

Overall it looks nicer than just leaving my watch on the bedside table.

It's not meant to be just a stand to hold your watch whilst not it use. It's meant to be a charging stand so you need to put the charger in it for it to work properly and for the watch not to fall off.

Hmm, interesting. After looking at the design of the stand, before I got it . . .
I never expected that it was designed to be used without the "charger/cord" attached. I just saw the "hole" and figured out the rest.

This stand is so lightweight, that the cable trying to straighten itself exerts enough force to move it out of position! Literally if you blow on it, it moves!

I have never had a dock or stand for any device that was heavy enough to consistently stay in position. I know Henge make a very heavy iPhone dock, but that's the only one I can think of that won't be easily moved.

Anyway, my solution has always been simple: blutac. I have been using it to keep docks and stands in place on a variety of surfaces for years, and it has always worked well, with no adverse effects.

I hadn't considered that either. What I do like about the stand, though, is that the charging disc can be slightly recessed so that the body of the watch touches the stand's rubberised pad. This stops the watch rotating on the charging disc.

Anyone here try to paint one black yet? Or am I the only one who wishes they had a black model?

Was watching the other Spigen threads for updates - missed this one.

Yep, I was planning on painting it black. Was thinking metallic black would be nice, but could just as easily be a semi-gloss (as the body of the SB SS is shiny, but the band is almost matte - has a limited sheen).

I did some reading and you need to prep the aluminum with a self-etching primer (eg. Rust-oleum self-etching primer - $5 at home depot). Then, you can use any paint you like as it's already primed.

You have to use a self etching primer, or the paint you apply will eventually flake off.

Oh - and the rubber top just pulls straight off. The feet also remove easily, so no need for taping anything when you paint. (I'll likely not paint the prongs that are hidden by the charging head though - just overlap the rubber a little).

I'm also looking for some black rubber/epoxy paint to paint the charging cord - so it's less noticeable. May then affix the chord to the back edge of the stand, so it's almost invisible, let it drop at the back, for the table edge.

And, yes, the video was entertaining. :)
