I want to use a Mac

I am currently using a PC for Vinyl Cutting. I am using Vinyl Master Pro on a Graphtec CE 3000-60.
For everything else in life I use a Mac. (Easier to use with a lot less problems).
Does anyone know if there is good vinyl cutting software for a Mac, which installs and runs as smoothly as what I have on my PC?
I know this question has sort of been asked, but I did not see a definite answer anywhere.

About USB dongle and price

Yes, sorry, it includes a USB dongle : market is so small we can't leave free copies on the market ! But we care to keep competitive updates. There are advantages too : ShareIt guarantee you a 30 day trial period after which you would receive your money back if you are not satisfied by the product and send us back the protection key. Concrete trial would cost you the shipping duties in this case.

Our USB dongle is valid to run our solutions for Adobe Illustrator 10, Adobe Illustrator CS and Adobe Illustrator CS2. Any minor updates are free to download and will be so until release 2.0 (in the loop of 2007). So in 10 years, our customer have only paid for updates for moving from Mac68000 to PowerPC and from MacOS 9 to MacOS X.

About price : any macrumors readers would use the below special coupon to obtain an holiday discount at order :

GYE98ASM

This one is valid until end of july 2006 and is to enter in the appropriate field in the order process from this link :

Philippe you really seem to know a lot about vinyl cutters and I have a question I hope you can answer.
I have an old anagraph ae-60e vinyl cutter that we originally had running on a mac with apple talk. The computer died and the cutter went in storage. I am trying to get it running again on a PC with a tripp-lite keyspan usb to serial adapter. I can see the information being sent to the cutter because the adapter has a led light that flashes but the cutter does not even flinch. Did anagraph make different units for Mac or PC or is all taken care with the software?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Bob

He hasn't visited the site since 2007, and the last post in this thread was 4 years ago. Don't think you're going to get an answer from Philippe.

I ask my friend, he's a commercial tint / vinyl installer and has a 7' plotter at home, it's pretty funny when he first got it we went to print an iPhone screen protector and we kind of messed up on the sizing. It would have worked perfectly had we had a 5' tall iPhone.

Either way, I'm fairly certain he has a USB - Serial connector as well but I can't remember what software he uses. I'll find out.

NCS MagiSign plug-in for Adobe Illustrator
LOST DRIVER FOR OLD ANAGRAPH 101E COULD U HELP

NCS MagiSign plug-in (http://www.magisign.com) drives more than 350 models of cutting plotters directly from Adobe Illustrator 10, CS and CS 2 running on Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) or 10.4 (Tiger). It includes recent as older models from Roland, Graphtec, Summa, Mutoh, Ioline, Anagraph, Zund, Aristo, GCC, etc.

NCS MagiSign runs on any G3, G4 or G5 PowerMac as runs over MacIntel through Rosetta without known problems (note : Adobe Illustrator CS2 is not universal so you need more RAM memory in this case).

Older versions of our products were compatible with older Mac and older versions of Adobe Illustrator (from 1996).

NCS MagiSign includes its own USB drivers to drive as fine as possible cutters like Summa or Graphtec over Mac OS X versions described above.

NCS MagiSign allows to drive many brand of old cutters build with only serial port through Keyspan Serial adapter and the appropriate serial cable for the cutting plotter.

I keep myself at your disposal for any further info
Best regards

I’ve just opened up my glass etching business which requires a vinyl cutter to make the stencils. I’ve tried multiple programs now to see which one works best for the uses I have. Many programs start to cut at random points causing a lot of waste vinyl. Many programs were not even compatible with my cutter. I’ve also run into programs that cut an image with a different size than what’s on the program itself. Easy Cut Studio solves all of that.

You can set the program to start cutting wherever you want. Sometimes I have extra vinyl on one end of the roll which I would need to manually cut and set to the origin point of the cutter to use. No need for that with this software. You can change the origin point itself on the program. This saves a lot of wasted vinyl. This is time and money saved with that feature.

The size of the image or object you have in the program is exactly what gets cut (trust me, I’ve measured). If I put a certain size into the program, I need the cut out to be exact. The image size is very important in my case since it is the stencil for various sized products. Easy Cut Studio makes that very easy with no guess game going on.

The cutter I use is not one of the cutters on the list of compatible cutters for the program. I wanted to test out if my cutter would work with the program before buying. I downloaded the trial and did nothing with it. The trial ended and I still hadn’t tried to see if it worked with my cutter. I messaged customer service to see if we can work something out to see if I can test before buying. They got back to me faster than I had expected, understood my issue, and gave me solutions to try. Knowing that customer service is there whenever I would need them is very comforting.

My computer actually only has a usb port so I thought the cables won't work with communicating with the cutter. I've used the usb-serial cable and have had no issue with it.

Overall, this program has been reliable, accurate, and user friendly. I would recommend this product to anyone who is in the market for an easy to learn plotter software to get jobs done.

@peeeeeteeeee are you happy with your graphtec? Would you recommend it?

Sorry for being off topic.

I'm in the market for a vinyl cutter and I sure could use some help. Where did you get started? Because there are a number to choose from. At the moment I don't want to shell out a lot of money so I was looking at value vinyl cutter. I've got tired of all the hype reviews that were on the net. And actually managed to find one that seems legit. On this page I've found a review that was critical. It actually showed the flaws of each machines. What do you think which one would be better.

Any help is appreciated
