I haven’t used the Photos app much over the years but am starting to a lot more lately. I don’t notice a ton of differences in the Photos app. There’s no way I’ve found to see meta data that I’ve noticed. I see the option to turn most images into Spacial Photos in there and there is a menu option for Auto Dimming that I’m guessing was there before and I just didn’t notice.

I do see an option to allow you to create new Albums which I was able to get to from the Collections menu item on the left and also on that menu there is an option to see categories of items like your Hidden Items (that’s protected), Recently Deleted, Recently Shared, Recently Deleted, Recently Edited and items the system has identified by type (Handwriting, Illustrations, QR Codes, Documents, etc) plus you can see a break down of items by Media Type (Videos, Selfies, Live Photos, Portrait, Panoramas, etc.) Again those last two listing may have been there before but I didn’t notice them until I spent some time in the app looking to find a way to view Meta Data.

Without really knowing the iOS Photos app inside and out nor paying a lot of attention to the Photos app in the v1.x line that’s about all I can give you.
Thanks for that! It sure sounds a lot like the iOS version. Let’s hope they keep adding to it. I watched a couple of videos last night and would have liked the ability to see the metadata for what I was watching like resolution and frames per second.

The biggest problem that I have noticed, is that spatial photos that have been processed through a third-party means ( SpatialCamera app, kandao ego camera) no longer show as spatial in the Photos app. The photo just stays blurred out, and the little spatial icon is also grayed out.

Rd Client for iPad does work under VisionOS 2.
I use Ivanti Pulse Secure VPN and it works. Also UniFi Teleport works.
It very possible that OpenVPN for iPad will work.
How does this work with Pulse? ... are you able to install Pulse VPN on the AVP as well? I wouldn't have thought that was possible.

Does the Free Hulu by T-Mobile support 4K? That’s what I have but haven’t used it so far. If yes, I could test it tonight and let you know.
I got 2.0 last night and can confirm that it gets 4k and atmos through the browser. one step closer. now we just need prime and peacock

To clarify further, it won't work on anything less than iOS 18, though its utility will be limited because you can't interact with the AirPlayed iPhone like you'll be able to with an iPhone mirrored to a Mac running Sequoia. I wonder what'll happen if you mirror the iPhone to a Mac that you connect to the AVP as a virtual display. (Actually, I don't expect that to make it possible to interact with the iPhone, but it'd be fun to try.)

Apple just needs to make iPhone mirroring work with the AVP!
So I tried this, because why not? And, nope, it does not work, as apparently the OSX screen mirroring to AVP is considered a sidecar and iphone mirroring is incompatible with sidecars.

So that experiment failed. And you know, I don't even need AVP to mirror my phone, I just want to be able to make Wifi phone calls from my AVP!

Does anyone know if the visual passthrough of Magic keyboards (showing through the environment) is supposed to be working already? I keep hearing about it but I can't get it working on latest 2.0 beta.

Yes it does work. There are some Settings you may need to check and enable.
Thanks, yes those are all on (under "Awareness and Safety"). I've tried resetting/rebooting etc with no change.

The visual passthrough just refuses to work when keyboards are connected to my MacBook Pro, which is my usual situation (and I've seen videos from others where that works). This is despite keyboard functionality working perfectly across both computer screens and vision apps.

The passthrough DOES work if I connect the keyboard direct to the Vision Pro via Bluetooth, but I'm just not going to do that on a regular basis.

I see Dev Beta 4 dropped. Do we want to keep this thread for all Beta talks or do we have enough interest to start an individual thread per beta?

It’s fine with me to continue on this one thread for all betas so we could track progress of issues, etc. Just my humble opinion.
Works for me too! I was getting confused trying to click around the main page to see where people would be talking about the latest build.

I haven't downloaded Dev 4 yet, but I haven't had any issues with 1 and 3 (I skipped 2). I was going to wait until others have commented on if anything has changed for the better/worse before diving in myself.

Just downloaded Beta 4, seems like a more stable version for me versus Beta 3. I had a lot of bugs in 3. This is more polished, we just need the ultrawide Mac Virtual Display and vOS2 will be golden!

How do we add a new contact?
Not even using a 3rd party App I was able to do it. Perhaps they deprecated an API and now it’s not possible.
And we do need WiFi Calling to be a priority.
