An interesting error - I just did the opposite several times - now no cover any time: Removed the AVP - let it sleep - put it on - working flawlessly twice now. Forgot to have a look at the visible apps - no Safari in any case.
I may have figured it out:
• What’s happening is that the AVP loses track of its location, so when you put it on, you will be outside the area of the Environment.
There are two solutions to the problem:
• Remove the AVP, go back to the place where you left it when taking a break and put it on there, or
• While wearing your AVP, walk back to the place you left it, or just walk around until you enter the Environment.
If after doing any of the above solutions the windows start moving with you, turn ON Travel Mode and the turn it OFF.
Some possibilities you could try to avoid this problem from happening may be:
• When you take it off, don’t place it far from where you were using it.
• Put on the cover before removing the AVP (although you already tried sucessfully without it).
• And finally, when you remove the AVP, don’t let it sit upside-down. That could be confusing the location sensors.
