I thought it might be fun, to play a game where all posts are done using voice dictation only.

So far the first sentence has gone well, and I hope it continues to do so.

I think the hardest thing about voice dictation is actually thinking quickly enough about what you're going to type.

Although again, that's my first post using voice dictation Emily all applies must only use voice dictation.

You can also press the enter key to end voice dictation

(I'm just trying to type using brackets as well).

"Help""

"Didn't work very well

In fact everytime you say the word quote it seems to show quotation marks – typically not that time.

Dictation is a pretty cool feature, I hope it helps me with all those college essays I have to write!

Too bad we have to press fn to confirm. (I wrote this with dictation)

The reason we have to press fn to confirm every dictation, is because if you're going to do a long dictation you might have to pause for quite some time to think of what you're going to say next, it would be kind of annoying if it just ended like Siri does, without confirming it and you have to redo the dictation all over again.

It's been it's going to be hard to get used to.
I like the idea of having it not sure how useful it's going to be everyday.

What does your normal day consist of? If you do a lot of typing then it'll probably be pretty useful to you. But if you work in a busy environment with lots of people around you then it might be kind of weird if you're just talking to your computer.

By the way, does anybody have a problem when they're going over their blue underlined dictation and are trying to see what other options are are for the text and it's not showing any options to replace the dictation?

I love voice dictation. It's my favourite feature of mountain lion. I hope any that are less X 10.9 or OS 11 will get full Siri integration.

Yes, I'm having problems with that as well when it comes to the blue underlined words and getting alternate corrections, there is a delay and it is quite frustrating-I am thinking is a bug because it works sometimes and sometimes it does not. otherwise it is a pretty cool feature I love using it

I was on I message using voice dictation as I am right now, then I realized what's the point of voice dictation on iMessage when you can just call the person up? (I said this in dictation)

I have used dictation on the iPad and now I'm going to use it on my Mac.

Now I just hope that my mom doesn't think I'm nuts when I'm talking in my room. I don't want her to think I'm talking to myself, when I'm just dictating my message.

My understanding is that if you use it more, it will become better over time, but not sure if this is true or not. So far dictation on this forum is doing quite well, better than I expected, but I have seen a few hick ups now and then. I find myself pausing a lot, trying to get my thoughts together in what I'm going to say. I hope Apple does introduce Siri into this operating system at some point and that will be a lot of fun as well.

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

So far dictation is working very well for me. I'm hoping that over time it will learn my voice and be a little more accurate on some of the fringe words.
