"Job Simulator" will be about as close as many in the younger generations ever get to having an actual job. I'm developing "Parent's Basement Simulator" as we speak. 🤣

***And yes, I am just going by the name Job Simulator, because if there isn't job simulation in it, it is a stupid name anyway***

Apple always on that bleeding edge of gaming... Maybe for Vision Pro 2 we'll get Fruit Ninja!

Finally seeing Apple's focus on gaming.
Even in the MacRumors comments people associate third-party developer’s work with Apple (Owlchemly Labs is owned by Google/Alphabet by the way).

Sidenote: It is no wonder why Apple tries to control the user experience so end-to-end because I see so many people associate apps in any App Store and think Apple makes them. If there is a problem with an app on any Apple device they blame Apple. Does not apply to everyone of course but a lot of people in my observation—few too many than I ever expected.

this is for babies

Yep. Just like the other content Apple highlights for the device: cartoons for kids. Seems as if Apple is happy to infantilize their customers if they think they can move more of this failed device. Seems a little insulting to be told that this is the “future of computing” only to be offered cartoons and apps designed for little kids.

You know what type of simulator everybody wants on the Apple Vision Pro. But Tim Cook will never allow this.

And I'm not going to say it because I will get banned.

You're missing the point entirely. No one thinks Apple owns these games. They're saying the overall experience is that you buy a $4,000 device today to play blocky games from four years ago. And yes, Apple could have made some effort to coordinate releases with these external developers, just like they once did for Office with Microsoft.

Don’t waste your time. These people will never have anything nice to say about the AVP. I can understand fair criticism but as long as the AVP is priced out of most people’s range, it will always be mainly negative comments.

Job simulator will be a nice taste of nostalgia after AI/robots take over all of our real jobs. haha

Job Simulator? Why not make "Jobs Simulator"...

Get up in the morning. Find and put on a black polo-neck, jeans, and round glasses, then off you drive to work. Park in disabled spaces with no license plate, but have to try not to gain too many tickets. Once there you decide between ideas. Have to make things look good, remove as many ports as possible, and decide how much thinner to go without pissing off pro customers who want more thermal performance and more function over form, but without upsetting the people with more interested in form over function and still always getting it thinner without making Engineers lose their minds. Shout at employees just enough to push them to their limits and inspire them to make cutting edge products, without making them leave. Then you can have the whole other side of try not to get sacked from the company you started. Run another start-up. Come back and try to turn the company around. There's loads of scope for a great game there! :D

You're right, why would anyone ever think Job Simulator was about job simulation? 🙄 I suppose Job Simulator is a FPS then, right?
Your reply is not the own you think it is because my point wasn’t that jobs are not involved but rather that the game is a sardonic puzzle VR experience and not an actual Job Simulator.

It doesn’t take more than a couple seconds to realize that, similarly how it doesn’t take more than an honest evaluation of my post to realize I wasn’t faulting people for thinking it was about jobs but rather them misinterpreting the tone and purpose of the game

An iPhone has IMUs (accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers). It also has onboard cameras. Your hands don't have either. The iPhone is equivalent to Quest Pro controllers.

The Vision Pro headset also has IMUs. If they weren't helpful for tracking itself more robustly, it wouldn't have them.
Couldn’t have said it better. Yes, the Apple Vision Pro has the same tech that the iPhone has that makes the game possible on the iPhone. :)

In a Vision Pro mini golf game, the putter movement would be independent of your head movement. (unless you want the putter attached to your head? You'd get some pretty bad neck strain after some longer putts... )

In the iPhone mini golf game, I believe the phone itself is the putter.

Maybe you could make a Vision Pro app where an iPhone is the putter, or maybe even an Apple Watch could assist in tracking swings.

The Vision Pro can't track the movement of your hands as quickly and accurately as it can track its own movements.

It really was though, otherwise you wouldn't have responded the way you did.

This reply doesn’t make any sense, just because I address what I perceive as a lack of understanding doesn’t mean your own was effective

Sure, it was effective at getting my attention but so would be pissing your pants in public

Also not sure why you say “the way you did”, my tone perfectly matched your initial smarmy response - it wasn’t an unwarranted escalation
