Great news guys!

I hope this is true because many people write things just because anyone somewhere once said that Santa Claus is bringing his iMac in Mid-November...

I hope we'll get any screen capture and other users feedback...

For now my i7 is still for "November".

Just a question for the others who had their orders i7 cancelled and re-added, do you have a : "How to pay" (Comment régler in french) button which appeared under the cancel, print and return buttons? Is it because I paid by wire?

Same here.
In my cart it's called "Bezahlung" (Payment)..

I don't think that I have to pay again, because it's the same reference number.
I also got an confirmation mail from Apple, so I would think that this is a bug.

There IS a Santa Claus. It looks like there's a chance I might get my i7 by Thursday yet!

w00t!

Great to hear that the i5s are shipping!

Great to hear that the i5s are shipping!

Not one to pour cold water over this latest information but I hardly think this is concrete evidence that they 'are shipping'. Next thing you know there's be a story appearing on a tech site mentioning that recorded message! Sounds like they're as anxious as us to get their hands on them....

Ordered a standard i5 on 10/30, shipping still shows "November". My card was pre-authorized for the full amount, and after two days, the charge vanished.

Just for giggles I called Apple today to hear the recorded message. I was not given a recorded message, but rather handed right over to Benny, who was awesome, but still couldn't tell me anything as far as a more accurate ship date. When I inquired about the cost to upgrade from Standard Shipping to 2-3 Day Shipping, Benny gave me a bump to Priority (Next-Business-Day Shipment) for FREE.

It was a thing of beauty. Still, I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. My Fiancee is about ready to shoot me, but a well-timed "I love you baby" brings her down off the tower. For now.

Well folks, as I've been saying all along, Apple always delivers as promised if not early. They said November, and they will be going out in the first half of November. As usual, Apple lives up to its reputation.

You should write a book
and i would buy it.

still, IF these shipping changes are real, i could imagine they first ship to the people that already ordered online.
Also I think that the first stock is already sold out before it hits the store, that's why they wouldn't change the shipping date on the website!

I've just spoken to Apple support, it was about the fact that my order appeared to have been cancelled (Under order status my original order appears normal with the "not yet shiped" predicate. But underneath there has been added a new order consisting only of my 27" i7 iMac which states "Cancelled") I was told not to worry though.
But that was not the only thing I was told, the guy I spoke to told me to brace myself for about another two weeks of waiting, but he stressed that he didn't know anything for sure

Have anybody else experienced any mysterious changes to their orders?

hmm … a guy at the apple support forum wrote that his imac is "in transit" and that he has get an ups tracking number.

but still no facts etc.

THANK YOU! Haha. This thread is getting intense with all the crackpot explanations and theories for the delays.

Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem, friends!

These assumptions are all necessary.
Helps some people keep their sanity and procrastinate while at work ;)

BTW if somebody made a behind the scenes documentary movie about whatever the hell is going on between all the different groups of people that work to bring us the final product, it would be a huge cult classic. In 20 years I would show it to my (currently nonexistent) kids, and tell them, "see, this is what we used to have to go through to get decent computers!"
Just imagine the drama!

computers? the same goes on for phones, consoles - hell, just about every piece of 'advanced' technology.
but I agree, I would be huge amount nerds :)

Stop worrying.... Look at the calendar. There are 2 US holidays in November. You will get your quad core in early December. Will ship just prior to US Thanksgiving holiday so :apple: does not have to give us all the "Black Friday" credit (assuming they have it this year) ;)

i5's vs. i7's

It appears, from both the Electronista blog post and the forums, that there is some movement on the i5's. So far though, nothing at all on the i7's. I ordered my i7 on 10/20 and there has been no movement whatsoever. Credit card charge still "pending", ship date still "November".

As long as this thing ships before Nov. 30th, I have nothing to say: all Apple promised was that it would SHIP in November (not that we would receive them in November). Fair is fair, and keep in mind that Apple wants to ship these machines as much as we want them to be shipped. If they're delayed, there's a good reason.

Well, proof is in the pudding or something

A screenshot of such confirmation mail would go a long way to add credibility to such claims :)

Just to kill some time and the fact that you guys are all friendly and in the same boat : Anybody used a Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch tablet ?

I cannot find some true reviews about it for Snow Leopard. As well I am wondering if there is any lag between the pen and what you see on screen.

Still "November" here in the Netherlands :(

It wouldn't surprise me if they started shipping in the US and we won't get them until later, tbh. Europe usually gets second-class treatment... But we'll see :)
