For anyone interested, here (finally) is a pic of my setup:

The one on the right is my i7, which has been running great and is a lovely machine. The secondary on the left, connected via a mini-display port cable, is a refurb c2d acting primarily as a display for the i7.

Hey Belmakor, I was looking to do the same thing with my old C2D, did you just plug in a Mini Display Port - Mini Display Port cable and were able to use the C2D as a secondary display?

Yes - you plug that cable into both computers, press CMD+F2 on the keyboard of the one you want to use (it has to be booted into Mac OS) as the target display, and PRESTO!

(It will only work if your "old" C2D is a 27" model. The 24" models - and the new 21.5" - do not support Target Display Mode)

87 days or there abouts from JB. I have been looked after but at that point I had no idea this would be happening.

Time to ring Apple again.

At least there is the potential of a new faultless machine. (27 Quad)

Bit poor really. or Really poor.

The latest update from calling Myer today, my stock i5 (ordered 18th November) is expected to be delivered by Apple to Myer central warehouse on 27th Feb. Myer is giving $100 off any computer accessory (including Apple) at time of pickup to people who ordered before Jan as compensation, at least its something. Oh well, another month to wait and hope Apple don't push it back again.

Day 100 waiting on my i5 from DJ's Brisbane, haven't heard from them in a couple of weeks, but I would expect them to get delivery about the same time as Myers, so that will be 4 months wait for me.

Bloody hell, thats rediculous!
I didnt get any compensation from DJ'sot Apple, no cash back, no 'here is a itunes card' - nothing. Not even a follow up call after my 2 official written complaints.

Good news is after that latest firmware update everything is running sweet. Still have a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, but time heals all wounds i guess.... (unless it goes septic then it smells like s&%@)

When mine eventually arrives I'm getting 10% off plus the 48 months interest free.

I called today and got told the system says 22nd, but am going to confirm with Apple dude tomorrow.

It has been a lesson in patience

Ordered an i7 iMac from JB last saturday 20th Feb. The sales purchase said one of the staff also ordered one about 2 weeks ago and recently got his. With the update in delivery to 5 - 7 business days, I'm expecting it some time next week.

Can't believe it is almost March day 117 and still no sign of my i5 stock 27" iMac

Unless you absolutely needed the 48mths interest free, I'd be asking for the order to be cancelled, and ordering direct from Apple. Over 110 days for a computer is beyond ridiculous.

Yea man i feel for ya. I'm in the same boat.

Bought mine around the end of December last year off Mac1 (reseller). Call them up this week and they're saying the new i5 Shipments will be coming in Mid-March...... yet on the Apple website shipments for the i5s and the i7s 27" iMac says 5-7days... :(

Really want to know what's the delay is......

My business is Apple Authorised and despite having orders for i7s & i5's since release ( nearly 3 months now) we haven't seen one i5 ... not even teh demo i5 on order. We have had four i7's and that is it. The reality is that resellers should take Apple to ACCC they are selling direct and ignoring orders placed months ago with resellers. If you cancel and order direct you will probably find that it is still weeks before you get it... they tell you 5-7 days to get you in now...

It's interesting to note that the shipping times quoted on the apple online store is about a few working days rather than weeks. Hopefully these new batches won't be another batch with problems.

On another forum someone who had ordered from Myer was told that the i5's were not expected until the end of March now and suggested he ordered an i7 becuase it would probably come quicker.

With my 10% off the i7 would be about the original price I was going to pay for the i5 so I may do the same.

I got my i5 a while ago now from DJ's - havnt had any problems.
I think upgrading the ram to 8gig made it go through faster somehow, well, that and calling alot of people and asking them WTF was going on.

makes you wonder if those original stock i5 orders will ever ship... Apple are just being bitches about it, hoping you will cancel and order direct. Stick it to the man!

Hopefully DJ's might learn a lesson from this too.

DJ's have since put in a seperate CTO i5 order with wired numeric keyboard,
and one for an i7 to see which came in fastest.

Tuesday last week, I called Apple online orders with my W orders numbers, and was told they couldn't do anything and the resellers have a seperate hotline. I did manage to get an email address from them and wrote a scathing email about how appaulling it was to treat their customers in this way.

Coincidenlty maybe, my CTO order shipped on Friday via SCHENKER PTE LTD, so the long wait may be over, just hope it doesn't have display problems

When did you order? Mine was ordered on the 22nd Feb. It's been over 10 business days and the apple site has dropped the estimated shipping to within 24hrs :-/

Hooray! My i7 status finally changed to shipped overnight. Does anyone know how long it normally takes to be delivered from Singapore?

Not too long - you should have yours early next week I think at the latest. If you go back through the thread various of us posted tracking info that showed the length of time it took ours to arrive.

Just got a call from David Jones my stock i5 has arrived, which is weird I thought the one with the wired numeric keyboard would come in first becuase that is the one that says it shipped on the 5th based on the W order number,
maybe the resellers finally have stock trickling through.

Picking it up in about an hours, just hope it is a good one after almost a 4 1/2 month wait.

Got my i5 yesterday, have only had time to migrate from my C2D 27"
and have brought that one in to work, and have to set it up to connect to the windows domain, and then clone my PC in Fusion

The i5 was definitely just stock that was ordered for David Jones Brisbane.

I got my 10% off and 4 years interest free, plus got a HP Wireless Printer as part of the Applecare deal, supposed to be worth $179

They were almost not going to let me have the Applecare deal, which also included the option of free Office or iWorks, but I dug my heals in, especially after almost 4 ½ months.

I did the test and no stuck or dead pixels, I'm not so sure about the yellow tinge, I was standing up and the bottom did look slightly yellow, but when I moved down the grey bar looked the same as the top, so I am not sure if part of it is caused by the viewing angle on such a big screen.

Good luck to all those still waiting, oh and mine is a week 9

Good to hear yours is sorted. I'm expecting my i7 to arrive tomorrow or early next week :)

So the Myer guy I spoked to two days ago who told me "Mid April" *was* full of crap! I just got the call I'd been waiting since November – stock i5 27" arrived at Myer Southland this morning. I will be setting it up at work this afternoon to check there's nothing wrong! Yay!
