It's not bricked. Bricked means you can't do ANYTHING with it.

Sounds like a random issue. Restore fresh from iTunes to iOS 10 and then restore your backup. Problem solved. Is it a minor inconvenience? Sure.

Well, i cant do anything with my SE.

Recovery does not work, and the phone just shows an itunes logo.

I love how snarky people get. This has happened to many people. It's not user error, it's a bad download.
Lol I was just joking. That's my go to joke. Even when my wife can't figure something out technologically I say "User error."

I report the user error to the apple support supervisor for them to investigate.
To thank me they are sending me a new iPhone 7S plus for taking the time to report it.

My iPad Air 2 updated perfectly, but my iPhone 6s Plus didn't. I have it back to normal after connecting it to my MacBook.

updated my iPhone 6 around 1:15 and it worked fine for me. My buddy tried it around the same time and he got the iTunes "message".

Not random, mine now demands iTunes to get it going again. I would suggest people use iTunes to do the update.

User error.

... to trust that an update will work?

1. OTA didnt work
2. itunes tried to offer only ios935
3. itunes own updating is fked up...
4. when you finally get itunes to update itself, you are able to get ios10
5. While your are downloading the file, itunes ask you to update your phone (as it was in the beginning)
5. Updating your phone to ios10 failed (a bug in itunes - it is still downloading the file!!) - it really didnt even try to update it.
6. Ignoribg itunes bug, and waiting that the file is downloaded, you are are able to fix the first error.

User error???

Could you please explain how it is an user error when a) ota update doesnt work and b) itunes is false reporting back to you? (it is telling you that the update failed althought it is still downloading the file.)

I started to update at 18:13 UK time, iPhone 6s, now says connect to iTunes. iTunes wouldn't load on my laptop so had to reinstall it.

Now it wont update or let me restore, a few minutes after clicking update or restore it comes up with an error message saying failed to connect, check network settings......

Any suggestions?
