Updated both my iPad Pro and 6s Plus with no apparent problems. It appears that Apple has taken care of the kerfuffle.

I did the update while connected to iTunes.

Could you please explain how it is an user error when a) ota update doesnt work and b) itunes is false reporting back to you? (it is telling you that the update failed althought it is still downloading the file.)

The user updated too fast = user error

BINGO! THANK YOU so much. "DFU" worked perfectly! Former Genius on YouTube said "Error 12" meant replacement only solution. NOT SO!

Well, i cant do anything with my SE.

Recovery does not work, and the phone just shows an itunes logo.
