I don't care whether it's yours or not, I still like it.

I'm approximately one third of the way to getting a similar set up myself (insofar as I've got one 2405fpw...which I could only afford because I got it half price  )

actually, there's a very good and logical reason to have specs in the sig. That way, every time you post a topic asking for help or something, you don't have to post you're specs in there each time.

besides, what's worse? that, or some stupid cliché quote that means nothing?

Then you are clearly a FANTASIST, living in some cloud land with pixies and sherbet fountains, who is making it all up.

That starship is SOOOOOOO 2265!

Kirk blew it up because it was so old and decrepit in '85!

Get yourself a REAL starship!

I would agree with you, except that it's obvious a lot of people do that because they clearly need to feel some sort of superiority.

If nobody gives a ****, then why did you post all about your (frankly awesome) setup?

Let me show you. Right...

You know something? That doesn't work so well, especially when people list more than one machine. There is a place in user profiles for it, so it can be left out of the .sig

Yeah, ok dude, whatever. I was merely making a point through a comparison, but it went over your head. There's a difference between making a comparison in a thread and advertising in your signature "look what I have, na na na na naaaah"

There's also a difference between showing off what you own and being proud of what you own. ;)

It's a thin and easy line to cross.

yea, for real. I spent nearly 3k on my powerbook. It took me years to save up that kind of money (poor college student). It was really quite an accomplishment for me to be able to buy this thing. It's not like i'm some rich guy who bought a $3k computer with pocket change, then bought 8 cinema displays with it and wants to proclaim to the world that they're better than everyone else for it.

this topic..

this topic should be deleted. The posts should be moved to the regular setup thread. Yes, very nice setup--but it's not like 3 displays haven't been posted before. It's the case that someone knows how to waste their money.

Yes.. the OP is an idiot, he said there is no reason for him to have a 3 displays, if anyone buys Displays for bragging rights that have a problem about how people view them.

Also the fact that he think his set up will make him "cool" is wrong. If he has posted it in the set up thread, it would have gone over well, but showboating it made people not respect it. I mean lots of people have nice stuff..some people have house, some have nice cars, some have kich-arse apartmants, and I don't think anyone is a better MR member for having any of these thnig

I'm 22 so adoption is out of the question. Are you a reall cute 22 year old girl that looks similar to the girl in the pic in the post above??? If so, I'd have to get rid of my current girlfriend to take you up on that...

All you guys are hilarious.

Let me explain the need for this setup.

First I do alot of tv recording for my kids and family. That is the left monitor. It also is hooked up to an xbox for downtime fun. The 30" in the center is for my work. Programming. I need all the space I can get for the long lines of code. Not to mention photoshop. The one on the right is for windows via parallels. I need that for dual testing code, but that won't happen until parallels fixes the the mac pro thing.

As far as being rich. Not really. I got these 24" from dell for $599 each. $800 with 25% off deal. So not out of reach for most people when you consider people are dumping around a grand for ram for their mac pro.

I set this monitor setup last night and thought it looked really cool with the lights off then all the consipiracy theorists started in on me and I just sat back and laughed as people demanded daytime pics. LOL. Some people just have no lives I guess.

Enjoy the pics. I'll enjoy the screen realestate.

Nah, Angelina has huge lips.. I'm way cuter than that. Not 22, but nearly 20.. so go on, take the offer.. I could be good for you.

...And I'm sure my fiance would totally understand...

heh :p

i think the issue is that you thought you were too good to post in my normal user setup thread. BTW, are your kids playing XBOX games at the same time as you're coding and photoshopping? seriously man, even after the first dell, do you really need a 30" code stuff? i have more than enough room on my 17" viewsonic to do basic stuff, but maybe you're coding OS XXX or something. and do you really need a 24" see if apps run in windows?

some people seem to have never heard of dontaing money to charity:rolleyes:
