You people seriously have to chill. Let the man be proud of his setup. I know if had a setup like that, I'd be showing it off too. And why are you questioning his reason for having three displays? It's his choice... and believe it or not, some people actually do use more than one display for productivity. I could easly use two displays, but it's not possible with my PowerBook (onboard display not counting).
Basically all the naysayers (especially the one above me) sound jealous.
For real...everybody chill out. Some people are hardware nerds. It's no different than buying a sweet car and rattling off some technical attributes like horsepower, 0-60, etc. I'm personally not one of these people, but I would buy a nice car because it looks cool, is fun to drive, etc., which isn't much difference.
I would be really surprised if anybody posting in this thread didn't have at least a few things that they don't literally *need*. Most of us probably have a lot of "toys" -- things we buy because they're fun or stimulating, but could EASILY live without.
Three screens -- that's toys. I'm a developer too. I have two screens at work (17" and 15") and I would love to have 2x20, it would definitely make me a little more productive, but it's certainly not a need. So who cares if they're toys? Its kind of cool to see them lined up, and I know I don't see things like that in my day-to-day life.
People on this site are so quick to get up on their high horse -- accusing the guy of not giving money to charity because he posted a picture of three screens on his desk? That's just absurd. When he comes out and says that he likes to sport hunt babies, then we can start the character attacks. Until then let's drop all negativity.
Edit: Is that left monitor mounted on an arm?
