Watch Band iOS Database App

The release version of the app will probably not contain these images - but I already figured out a backup plan with more abstract representations of the bands.

This will work to avoid (what I assume are) copyright issues with the images themselves, but do note that Apple also claims copyright on the designs of its products. I would expect that extends to their watch bands, but whether they enforce it for this purpose is another matter.

I made a mockup of the app, how I would imagine a Watch Band Database App—regardless the resolution of some copyright issue with Apple's marketing team. Mostly to start a discussion, what exactly you would like to see. Even if this might not be in scope for the first version, it's great to think about and to design a tool, you would definitely appreciate to keep your collection sorted. So, what's your most desired feature? Detailed information about a specific band? A wishlist? Some insight into your collection? Easy sharing of your collection?

This looks great. Definitely like ways of visualising your own collection (e.g. shown by band type here, but could also place your current bands on a colour wheel, or on a timeline by purchase date, etc.), though all those could be expanded to neat ways to view Apple's entire band history.

Each size has its own model/serial #.

Thanks. Sounds great. I love the idea of a colour wheel. I have only few, very specific colors in my collection and I am sure others might have have too.

There's a small indication of the approximate value of your collection on the last image, based on the original price of all bands.

I started a database of all serial numbers a couple of years ago with a couple of folks on this thread for all official 40/42mm bands up to about 2018 (including those only packaged with Watch bundles, such as the Gold or Rose Gold etc. buckle Sport or Woven Nylon bands which don't have individual model numbers, but the bundles do) but unfortunately abandoned as it was too time consuming to maintain. I have the Google Sheet which had some reasonable progress so pls DM me. I also have all of the 42/44mm bands ever released, boxed including all the Olympic, Hermes ones, etc. (except the 2 Sport bands released for Chinese New Year in 2016, couple of the S0 Gold Editions, and Hermes Etain, and some of the generational color iterations (e.g. slight different shades of the black Sport bands) that I'm not that fussed about chasing down). As you can imagine, that's hundreds of bands so most are in storage so for any missing on your list please send me a list and over time I will send the model numbers from the back of the boxes to you.

IIRC the app would only count OEM bands.

The bands will be only official Apple bands but in my collection I have some third party ones (based on the originals).. It would be nice to keep track even for those but with something to mark them.
So I can replace them in due time..
Either way the app would be great!
