Correct thanks for adding on the clarification friend! I appreciate it.

Depends on your use case. W/o AOD and if you work out a lot like running or hiking for hours the Apple Watch Ultras in these betas would have to be charged every once a day in some cases.
Thanks for your reply. I do not run for hours, just normal workout which last less than an hour.

Btw, will the workout buddy work on the AWU1?

That’s exactly what I do for my Apple Watch Series 6 too! If you follow me on Strava I only do mainly fitness+ workouts for 30-90 minutes a day. Yesterday, my battery was more stable. I’m back to charging it twice a day, which works perfectly for me since I don’t wear an ultra. Ultras should be fine if you only need to charge every other day.

According to Apple’s website, the Workout Buddy is for all Apple Watch running this new beta. But your paired iPhone must have Apple Intelligence since this feature uses AI and generative features for the text-to-speech to sound more like the Fitness+ trainers’ voice. The examples show that during a run, the voice feedback is more personalized, and instead of the Siri voice, it sounds like Sam Sanchez. You can also set it based on other treadmill or Time to Run trainers like Jamie-Ray or any other Fitness+ trainer included to generate the voice feedback from.

My Apple Watch Series 6 in gold stainless steel has this feature because I have an iPhone 15 Pro running Apple Intelligence on iOS 26 beta. What iPhone do you have?

Anyone have issues installing watch apps from the phone?

Mine starts the install and show part of the icon on watch but just sits there until I cancel the install.

Rebooted watch and iPhone same issue. Both are on 26.0

Got it working, put the watch on the charger it finally installed. If I remember correctly you could install apps on to watch without being on charger.

So let me get this right, for Workout Buddy to work I have to go on a run with a iPhone in my pocket?

❌ You only need to download the voices and AI-generated Fitness+ trainer text-to-speech stuff. So, you only need an iPhone (15 Pro or later with Apple Intelligence that’s paired with your Apple Watch) at the start, just like downloading a Siri voice. And you’re all set!

Phew. One of the best use cases for the Watch (for me at least) is being able to go for a run without a phone so glad it's not needed!

Not on my end.

👍 all the cellular Apple Watch wearers appreciate doing that especially if y’all swim or multi sport your ultras/main series watches!

Is the battery drain manageable on the watch ultra?
It's the first developer beta, if you don't need it for a real reason, it's not for you.
Don't expect battery life and rock solid stability.
On AW, changes are very limited except some effects on buttons, you don't win any new feature, it's useless to install it for now.

A huge bonus fo the Apple Watch against the competition - to be reachable without a phone is super good

My Ultra 1 has 87% battery health. Before the beta, I used to end my typical day at around 60% battery left. With the beta, it's more like 45-50% left. So, there's a little battery hit but nothing crazy.
Do you work out a lot like record long runs on the ultra?

Which is why cellular capability is a huge plus.

I’m having speaker volume issues again on my Series 10, after I sent it to service a couple of months ago.
Does anyone have the same issue on 26 Beta? Or is it a HW issue again?

Not applicable since I don’t own a series 10 but ima ask you how it happened.

First, did you swim or do a lot of water activities with your Apple Watch?
Second, did you clean the speaker grilles of your Apple Watch? Is there a muffled or popping sound from the speaker 🔈?

Nope, no water was in contact with the watch. Same thing happened the first time.

Is there a guide on how to clean it without breaking? I think it sounds a bit muffled, but sound is pretty dynamic. I tried to use the water ejection tool, but with no results lol.

I’ll hop back on the Ultra this September I guess. I took that one into the water and had no issues. This one was kept outside of anything related to water, but it’s the second time in 4 months when I’m having this issue.

Well, on my Series 7, the battery drain is horrendous. With same usage it's lasting 10-11 hours. Previously, it was on about 20% when I charge it going to bed, i.e. approx 17 hours.
Maybe expected on beta 1, but just saying!

Try it and lmk if it resolves your issue.
Not really, my longest workouts are maximum 2 hours long (playing soccer).
The battery life I mentioned in my previous post ("typical day") was without any workout. But even with a workout, my Ultra 1 running the beta comfortably last the whole day.

Yep completely normal for battery life to be hindered especially ultra users on watchOS 26 beta 1- it drains a ton after just a few hours. The analytical/logging processes do cause this while on the background, which takes up a lot of battery.

Update - Distance is completely off when you add a new workout during working out. Series 10 wifi. Even after reset of fitness calibration. looks like we will need to wait for the next beta for this to work. As long as it is just one workout (walk is the one I have tried) it's closer to correct but the moment I add a run to it, post that all stats are completely off.

Anyone having issues with not being able to view new emails on the watch, you tap on it and just get the spinning dots. You can only view them once they have been viewed on the phone. This has existed since 18.5 or 18.4, can’t remember exactly when.

If anyone has previously reported this, please provide your feedback ID and I will refer to it when I submit feedback. Thanks.

Did you reboot your watch?

I kept getting sign in on my watch and couldn’t until I rebooted my watch.

Yep multiple times. It’s existed for the last few public and beta releases and still there on this one.

I’ve disabled Hidden IP and Private Relay now just to test before I submit feedback.

The brush fixed my issue! Thank you!

My emails still come through my Apple Watch.

Also make sure if you manually set up the email account that it is properly set up on your iPhone.

I walked with my watch during this beta, and I didn’t experience this issue. Perhaps you could send in some feedback on Feedback Assistant and share your thoughts? I would really appreciate it.
