If your water indicators are tripped, insist they open your iPhone.

A few weeks ago my iPhone inexplicably died while charging when I answered a call. I took it to Genius Bar and of course first thing they did was check for water damage. To my surprise they said the bottom indicator was tripped and it would be AU$250 for a replacement. I know water did not cause this problem. I was nowhere near water when it happened. I was all set to pay when I calmly informed them of this and that I know people have proved that sweat has triggered those external indicators. They show no evidence of internal water damage and are just there to make things convenient for the Genius Bar. The Genius then threw me a lifeline, and said he "didn't normally do this" but he would open the iPhone for me and check the internal indicators. He came back and said they were fine and I got a replacement under warranty. So everyone, please politely insist that the internal indicators are checked. If they are white, they can give you a replacement under warranty.

Put the phone in dry rice and let it dry out for a few days. It might come back to life.

I've never understood why whenever people drop something in water they first try to turn it on? That's going to kill the device if it wasn't already dead. Electrical stuff + water = don't turn it on!

Dry rice is a great idea hope that works for yeah. As for the turning it on, so true and funny. Bravo.

U can go to apple store and have then check the sensors inside. If the two inside is not Dmg, they will replace. That's what happen to me and they replaced mine.
