This is what I've been waiting for. I bought the Apple travel case but it's been sitting unused waiting for this. It'll be going back to the store this weekend. Waterfield quality is great. Someone on here recommended them years ago and I've bought a lot from them over the years. For those complaining about the price - these things are hand sown in San Fransisco. About as expensive a manufacturing environment as you can get. Most of the other USA-made bags I've bought (DEFY comes to mind) are around the same price. I'm sure the profit margins are a lot less than what Apple is charging.

Still a bit pricey, but there is a slightly less expensive option in ballistic nylon for $159

Yep, Waterfield is the best at this.

I wish they made the strap arms removable or folding. It would be much more compact. They are probably saving that for a future model to sell it as an upgrade.

They are removable but I wouldn't want to remove them every time I have to put it in a case currently. I doubt they tested the arm latches for that many removals.

Good to have colour options. The case is still not cheap. The Spigen case is good.

The Apple Case is $200 because of the special anti-vibration foam that it’s made out of. Nothing else will be able to provide that level of vibration isolation for under $200.
anti-vibration foam?

The reason I won’t get the waterfield is because you have to take the strap off every time you put it away that’s a dealbreaker

It's surprising when Waterfield is the cheap option :)

I love the few bags I've bought from them over the years...I'm on the fence with this one though. I like the concept, but don't really like having to disassemble and reassemble the device to put it up. So basically I'm looking for the Apple case, but in a form factor that is as "flat" as possible. The glass will have the soft cover on it, so padding doesn't need to be a 1/2 inch thick on every side like the Apple case.

I feel like the Vision Pro case is Apple's revenge for the people who've cried for years over not being given a "proper" case for the non-folding Airpods Max.

yep the 'people' have spoken, many of whom never owned a Max, and this is what we get for the Vision Pro. I for one actually like the AirPods Max case, it does the job of protecting the most sensitive component without taking as much space as a bulky case. Fits in my carryon backpack much better than the Sony's with the 'proper' cases. Now we get this pregnant puffer fish.

also the apple case includes a plane that blocks the inner lenses of the VP, in case anything slips around inside then they're safe from scratches. pretty big in my book.

Apple should have added straps to that thing and made it a backpack. good grief that thing is huge.... who the heck will travel with that? It's an extra carry-on.

It may be smaller but jeez, the price is just as insane. You’d think they would try to really undercut Apple. They’re basically the same price.
Are you kidding? It's Waterfield. The fact that WATERFIELD is selling a case that's cheaper than Apple's tells you just how much Apple is price gouging on theirs. Anything from these guys that isn't approaching $500 is a miracle.

Do you really have to, though? From the looks of the pictures, I feel like you could just tuck the strap near the lenses and call it a day.

Exactly! This is insane. I was hoping that they'd have a third party case that would be cheaper, given Apple's propensity to have insane pricing for accessories, upgrades and ram.
