How can anyone afford to travel after buying this thing? and why the need to travel with it ?

Read any of the number of posts here from people who have flown with the vision pro and you clearly see the benefits of traveling with it.

I appear to be in the minority of people concerned with the decision to have the pro facing downward in the case? if you drop it, the front glass is the first thing to hit the floor inside the case. I get the desitre to have it bottom heavy, but i would rather it lay flat on the desk and face up when carried. anyone else or am i overthinking?

I mean… the whole reason I bought one is to be able to have a 4k monitor I can bring along with me on trips. No way I could justify that kind of spending on an entertainment device and while it is amazing, if I’m at home I’ll work off my normal monitors rather than putting it on.

Everyone’s use case is different but to me, travel IS the use case.

It may be smaller but jeez, the price is just as insane. You’d think they would try to really undercut Apple. They’re basically the same price.
Waterfield bags are pricey but well built.

There’s a picture of a guy on an airplane using his case as a pillow while also wearing the AVP.
That’s gotta be for show. Now way this thing can be comfortably used as a pillow. It has a soft layer on top but right below it is a hard casing. Like sleeping on a rock with a thin pad on top.

yep the 'people' have spoken, many of whom never owned a Max, and this is what we get for the Vision Pro. I for one actually like the AirPods Max case, it does the job of protecting the most sensitive component without taking as much space as a bulky case. Fits in my carryon backpack much better than the Sony's with the 'proper' cases. Now we get this pregnant puffer fish.
I totally agree. The AirPods Max case may not be the zippered enclosure that other cases are, but you can't say it isn't functional or that it does protect the Max in the ways most sensible people treat a decent set of headphones. I get that people want what they see other headphone suppliers offering, but I agree as well that many of the complainers probably haven't used the Max and don't understand how much bulk a full case would add or realize that, in most circumstances, the case it came with is just fine and even preferable.

Come on, I expected SOMEONE to post this in the comments, so I might as well do it instead:

If Waterfield can do that with the size of their case, maybe they can consult on the AVP v2 for some size and weight reduction suggestions?

their nostalgia core "I love tobacco and leather" style designs don't lend themselves to expertise in industrial engineering and design.
