Congrats to everyone, there were some great shots. Thanks for the nod and the comments. That shot is on a route at Seneca Rocks, WV called Gun Sight to South Peak. It's actually a pretty easy climb but there is a lot of wonderful exposure that makes it really fun. It's relatively safe as you place your own protection (with rope and gear) as you go. Here's a video I tried to make of the final walk across the ridge. I hope it works...

Holy smokes! That makes my palms sweat just watching it. No kidding. You wouldn't catch me up there -- but kudos to you! It is beautiful, though.

I could be wrong, but if you look at the image upside down, I think it is a reflection in a puddle, no?

I do believe you're right MCH-1138. Thanks, I didn't see it until I turned it upside down. It's quite clear now.

Tip-of-the-hat to you Archie.

I searched high and low for this bloody picture and couldn't find it. It was the one I really wanted to enter. Typical that I found it after the contest ended!

Statue outside of a building in Fenchurch Street, London.

Nice one MacRy. The vertical angle works very well to emphasize the height of the sculpture. All nicely framed with complimenting geometric shapes.

My brain just couldn't interpret that image until I flipped it over. Very nicely done. I wish I'd flipped it on my iPad instead of my iMac though. That thing is heavy!:D

Nail on the head! I can see how it can be a bit of a cryptic one!

One of those 'so obvious when you notice it' ma jobbies.

I suppose I cheated as I saw the puddle first so never had to figure it out!

Thanks again for all the comments.

Special kudos to JDDavis for risking life and limb for your vertiginous entry.

best thread comment, right on the money too!!

Thanks and I learned a new word from Parkin Pig :) Seneca is one of my favorite spots on the east coast and worth visiting even if you don't climb. It's very peaceful (no cell phone reception!). A big part of climbing is risk management. Safety is always the main priority. You can't climb again if you don't get home ;). It's really not a dangerous route but the exposure can get the butterflies stirring up for sure. Some folks seem to really enjoy that (I'm one of those). My wife, on the other hand, can physically freeze up and become ill when exposed to even moderate ski runs. Needless to say we don't take climbing vacations together :(. I enjoy the challenge of trying to take photos while climbing. It's hard to capture the scale of things and what it really looks like.
