Even a good night sleep didn't help to come up with a new theme. Didn't have a foggiest idea. Asked my wife and she suggested 'foggy'. Can't imagine why, but I always listen. I suspect she was inspired by this mornings weather.

Standard rules apply.

Follow all relevant local laws regarding stay-at-home orders. If you can't go outside, try and take a photo at home or grab one from the archives.
  • Do not comment, vote, react or click “like” on images prior to the winners being announced.
  • The photographs must be your own work.
  • You may only submit one photo per contest.
  • This contest runs for one week. If in doubt, check the dates in the title.
  • At the end of the week, The Judge will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
  • If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline, then last week's 2nd place has to step in. 3rd place takes over should 2nd place be similarly unable to officiate.
  • The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create a new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
  • Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
Contest will end at 9:00 (CET) on Monday 7th December.

I love fog. I grew up with foggy late spring mornings in the country and the dew burning off. Now I live in suburbia with very little fog. :/ A lot of my photo friends use fog machines indoors but I hear they set off smoke alarms, and given that ours are hardwired directly to the fire department, I've never bought one.

can't wait to see the entries though. ? and who knows, maybe we'll get some random fog this week.

oh, I would love to, and I will be on the lookout. But I really don't have any archived images that I can think of that fit the theme. but I'll put my thinking cap on. ?

You have to be especially careful after you burned down your house a few years ago. You don't want the firefighters to think this was an unplanned exercise. ;):)

As Molly says, fog really is rather rare around here (we live in the same area).... That said, I will have to take another look at the photos I shot a few weeks ago when we had a dose of surprisingly heavy fog. If none of them are suitable, then I'll have to figure out a way of creating "fog" in some other way, as I know I don't have any fog images in my earlier archives.

I'm kind of stuck with this one as well. I could get up at 4:00am and take a self-portrait of me walking around in a fog, but I don't think that's what you're talking about.

That would make it a good submission for this week and last week.

as suggested, a smoky foggy, errr, maybe foggy smoky photo. perhaps atmospheric is a better term. gotta be truthful, after all.

at any rate, it is in fact smoke from when we donated the house that was previously here to the fire department for a controlled training burn.
