Some fantastic entries already. This is all I have to offer. One from the archives; I took this in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, in December 2015 on my Sony DSC-WX350 which I still have but seldom use nowadays.
It was indeed a foggy night!@Laird Knox The foggy morning after a long night. And it isn't even christmas yet!
Nice interpretation of the theme. I hope that you're ok.
Thanks for your comments! Covid regs make losing on this dreary UK evening even more of a bitter pill to swallow. Or a sweet relief! The results of this week. Standard disclaimers apply. Feel free to ignore the opinion of this amateur.
Lots of entries this week. I have to thank my wife for this theme... It was an easy week for the people in the UK.
After all, that's where fog is made. Lots of B/W entries. That seems logical for fog,
but I must say I really liked the combination of fog and colour in some entries.
@LiE_ Lovely family portrait of a sunday stroll. The only critique is that the framing looks a bit centered.
Might I suggest putting mum & son more to the right of the image?
@gaswerks Fog or snowstorm? That does not matter. Very atmospheric image: cold and mysterious. Where is this?
@Hughmac From the land of the fog! I can smell the air. I am not too fond of the colouring.
@stillcrazyman Morning fog! The nicest fog. It will dissolve. You can feel the air warming up in this image.
@Clix Pix A classic Afred portrait.
@OldMacs4Me I see mist, so you're ok. Your part of the world looks stunning.
@anotherscotsman Yes, this is fog. I can hear the silence. No traffic, just your own footsteps.
@Laird Knox The foggy morning after a long night. And it isn't even christmas yet!
Nice interpretation of the theme. I hope that you're ok.
@Robotti That is some impressive fog. Did you take any shots while riding through it?
@redshifted A painting! I love the colours in the mist. Great composition too.
@mollyc Are you cheating!? That's not fog. But it really fits here. It took me some
time to notice the firemen on the left.
@someoldguy Foggy indeed. A bit too empty I think.
@Apple_Glen_UK Another from the isles of fog! This is another image I feel that can benefit
from a crop. If you take the upper left corner, thus removing a part of the the cycle path,
I would like it more.
@tizeye It's s good thing you didn't change your entry. This is how I remember the cliffs of Moher. Did you see
any people hanging over the cliffs to shoot nice images? Or were people smarter back in 1986?
@mtbdudex I love the coloured jacket of the person in the canoe. The overall imaged seems a
bit unbalanced, but I can't really explain why.
@oreganoinferno New Zealand is beautiful. Did you hike the Milford track?
@Indydenny Fog or smog? This is an image that really works in B/W: the clothing, the inscriptions and
the tombes.
@mackmgg Almost too late! Nice fog. And is that snow in the corner?
@lharvest A beauty. Lovely overall colours, coloured mist and a great composition.
@cupcakes2000 A powerfull image. Losing a football mathch on a cold dark evening.
And were are the fans?
@triptolemus A railway(?) bridge in the mist. Lovely mist, but the image feels a bit cluttered.
@Elbert C This looks cold. Have you considered lowering the horizon?
That's it. The ramblings of an old man.
The podium. It was a tie between redshifted eand lharvest. But there can only be one lucky number two.
1st Redshifted.
2nd Lharvest
3rd Mackmgg, Indydenny and Anotherscotsman
@someoldguy - Thanks for the kind words. I had scouted the area the day before and decided to return at sunset. The tide must have been out since there was ample room to walk around (relatively) safely. I wasn't expecting the fog and the majority of the pictures I took were prior to the fog passing through in force (see below). We love Arcadia (and Maine, in general) and if you are fortunate enough to live near there (when there aren't Nor'easter blowing through), then I'm quite envious. Thanks for judging , and the comments ; and congrats to the winners .
@lharvest .... That's a great pic ! I tried to get the same shot a few months back , but the tide was in and there was no way I was getting near where you were positioned . There were a couple of crazies out on some pretty slippery rocks trying to get the shot , and they weren't far out enough . Maybe next time ....
