Wow, 200 days without rain!!!! Whew!!! We had a wonderful spell of several warm and sunny days in a row but then yesterday and today were rainy so our bushes, trees, grass, remaining flowers and what-not are all nice and colorful and green (the ones which remain green all year around) and moist..... Sorry that you're missing seeing green!
Yeah it has been a crazy year. No measurable rain at the airport (official station) since April 20th. Last weekend there was some drizzle around town but nothing downtown where I live nor at the airport. Monsoon season is June through September and that was a bust. Not that Vegas gets a lot of rain but high winds, rain, and good lightning storms are not uncommon during monsoon season.

Normally we average 4.2" of rain a year and to date we are at 2.3". We have been 10-15 degrees hotter than normal. I was into the 90s through most of October. 2020 is the gift that keeps on giving.

We shattered the record of 150 days of no rain set in 1959.

It looks like someone forgot the "no like" rule. I'm sure that person will recognize the error of their way, fix this truly grievous error, plead for the mercy of the group, and pledge NEVER to do such a thing again. The sentence for failure to do so is, as always, FIRST PLACE.

What about dislikes on photos from previously disgruntled participants? ?

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll take it up.

The rogue liker would be sentenced.

??? I don't think I've ever seen that.... You mean actual commentary made at the time or shortly thereafter or someone's use of the "angry" /"dislike" reaction button? I haven't seen that here in the digital photography section; it seems to be more used in PRSI.

ETA: OK, I went back and looked through the entire thread and I see what you mean now..... Inappropriate, and yes, that should not be permitted here, as I suspect it has more to do with a personality conflict than with the actual image presented in this competition.

Admittedly I haven’t read through all the comments but what am I missing? Point me to the post please.

I think the regulars will overlook this (I mean, I didn't even notice it until now and it's been there since Wednesday according to my notifications) and it isn't going to affect judging. I probably should not have even brought it up, it actually just struck me as funny/odd. I only found it when I was looking for my own reactions as a potential actual offender. In which I was an offender (but at least of the positive variety! ?)

Sorry for getting so off topic. Let's just all ignore it and carry on as always, like the good friends we are. ?

Holding grudges and not taking well meant criticism on board is pretty sad on the part of the "dislike" poster. While I am generally not surprised by the behavior of folks on the other forum areas, it's disconcerting to see it here. We have so much negativity around, why add to it for absolutely no reason?

Except for this forum, I don't use any social media at all. A lot of the reason I'm here is because of the character of this community.
