I know it's a bit early for the day, but I'm going to close this competition at midday my time (Eastern US). I'll have my results later tonight or first thing tomorrow.

I really don't envy you for your task this week…I know it's a bit early for the day, but I'm going to close this competition at midday my time (Eastern US). I'll have my results later tonight or first thing tomorrow.
So, this was a challenge for me. It’s difficult to choose as there are so many wonderful entries. I’ve chosen two for a shared Third, and two for a shared Second. First of course is down to one.
Many thanks to all who participated !!!
Honorable Mention for Cleverness - Kenoh
Third - EsBK and Susurs
Second - Janichsan and Robotti
First - Congrats goes to @anotherscotsman - Terrific composition, great light and tone.
Thanks @stillcrazyman for the feedback, I forgot to switch out my image for the one I'm posting today in POTD, taken last Wednesday night, oh well... And good choice for a winner! I loved @anotherscotsman 's door handle image, and will be interested in what he comes up with for the next round.@Alexander.Of.Oz - Lovely capture and depth of field. Old churches are indeed fascinating.
My critique and choices for the winner of the Weekly Photo Contest: Iron - 11-18 March 2018
@Alexander.Of.Oz - Lovely capture and depth of field. Old churches are indeed fascinating.
@deep diver - Rusty chains are good for the theme. Sometimes selective color works - as it does here.
@someoldguy - I remember your series of the old cars and building from a while ago. The sepia tones fit this comp perfectly.
@macuser453787 - Great example of iron railings. Not sure of the focal point though.
@Hughmac - I’ve never tired of seeing these derelict boats. Fantastic colors.
@kenoh - Clever play on words. We ran out of steam with the puns though
@themumu - Not clear on what this is. I see there is some heavy duty steel though….
@tcphoto1 - Brilliant old van.
@inkmich - I’m usually amazed at the skill and creativity that goes into metal sculpture. This is yet another terrific example. Well captured.
@Janichsan - Right to the point. Clever and well captured.
@Apple fanboy - Another brilliant piece of metalwork. Well captured.
@Robotti - Terrific shot. It does make me wonder if they’re mining the iron ore or something else.
@mollyc - That little bit of warmth in what looks like a cold place. Nicely done.
@pmxperience - Great perspective of the tower.
@E3BK - Wonderful old bridge. I like the tone and lighting.
@oblomow - I had to sort out what all was going on here. Reading the next few posts helped. Interesting shot nonetheless.
@mmomega - That’s a massive looking fountain. Lighting is nicely captured.
@jkramerbob - Another clever play on the word “iron”. I’m no golfer, but I wonder if modern clubs even use iron anymore. Great action shot.
@Susurs - Lovely composition. Wonder if that leaf was there naturally, or was placed. Nothing wrong either way. I like the tones.
@anotherscotsman - Wonderfully done sir. Great subject and lighting.
