Another good week of judging. Well done

Thank you kindly. I believe that if we invest the time to get the shot, then the judge should also invest the time to show the image the respect it is due in critiquing it. I just hope my critiques are suitably qualified compared to the skills used to take the images. If that makes sense.

It is getting harder everytime because as a community we are collectively raising our game through new members and progression of capabilities of the usual suspects. :)

Exhibition? where?
[doublepost=1500977780][/doublepost]@Mark0 Logan Botanic Gardens? 2:30 from here. Will try and get down to see it...

Yes, that's correct. It runs from 1st September until 3rd October. It's my second real exhibition but due to the smaller venue it will feature around 16 items. I would greatly appreciate your efforts to visit the exhibition but don't stress if you can't make it - it's a very long journey down but the Botanic Gardens are lovely. There are also plenty of other things to do and go and see (especially with a camera) to make your trip more worthwhile.

As for the exhibition promotion, a local magazine that did a feature on me goes on sale tomorrow and I can't wait to see it. The feature shows some of my photos and also a photo of me on location taken by a professional I know who is the photographer for the magazine. That was a strange experience because I'm normally behind the lens - not in front of it!

My first exhibition in August last year featured around 35 items in a local museum. It also had a display of all my equipment (behind/under locked glass cabinets) and a lightbox showing some illuminated film slides of a 3 or 4 items that were on display. I've sold a lot of the cameras / equipment since then to fund the X-T2 switch so I won't be doing an equipment display this time round.

Here's a quick pic or two from that exhibition from last year:

I had the same thought. Why do Scotland get all the nice things, eh? ;)

We get all the nice things except the weather yes...

two and a half hours through lovely countryside! a mere day out. We pop down to Ayr and Dunure like it is a trip to the supermarket and that is almost half way there...

Oh I love Scotland. I travel up at least once every year. So far it has been consistent since 2007.

Please tell me you're in London.

Unfortunately not, I'm in South West Scotland.

I had the same thought. Why do Scotland get all the nice things, eh? ;)

We get our fair share of less than pleasant things!

I know Dunure very well and have friends who live nearby. I used to go there a lot in my formative days with the DSLR. It was in fact the first place I took my 5D when I first got it back in February 2007. I just said to my wife last week when we drove past Dunure that I'd need to get back there with the camera soon.

I highly recommend Dumfries & Galloway, particularly the Western side of the region
