For the theme of this weeks contest, I challenge you to show me that the Devil is in the Detail.

During my journey in photography, I have always thought of the mantra of a snap shows a moment in time, whereas a picture tells a story. With this in mind, I have always been fascinated with aspects of photography such as knowing where to crop tight to focus the viewer’s attention while not losing context. Like capturing the number 10 and the door knocker, yet knowing it is Downing Street, London.

So, with this in mind, I would like you to show images that draw my attention to the details either macro or micro, wide angle or tight angle but tell me a story, maintain the context, Show me an image that is part of the whole but paints the whole in the minds eye. Show me how to capture the devil in the detail.

Whilst I am not looking for a macro shot per se, here is an example. Tight in, but you know it is a camera.

Enjoy the theme and have fun with it!

Rules:

  • Be creative and have fun.
  • You may only submit one photo per contest.
  • Please do not comment on photos until after the judging has taken place.
  • The contest runs for one week, starting NOW! (see time/date stamp at the start of this thread.)
  • At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
  • The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).

[doublepost=1465240030][/doublepost]OK, 24 hours to go. Just 24 more hours to make my job even harder than it is already! How am I supposed to judge this one!?!? Wow! great entries...
Is it a Beetle?
Here's mine. Do I get a bonus point for the flower actually being in my own garden?

[Face palm] What was I thinking going with my submission. [shakes head] I should have known better, I could have done something more 'judge appealing' if I had just given it a little more thought.

Oh, a very nice picture by the way. I know I would not have done something this nice. I am very interested in knowing how you shot this.
