I’ve just stumbled upon this thread and it got me wondering. I used to do a bit of endurance running in the 80’s and 90’s, this was pre step counter/ smartwatch of course. As a mental exercise I was trying to work out steps per mile when running, and factoring in the slowdown in pace ( hence increase in steps ) as fatigue kicks in, so I could do a “ guesstimate “ of what my highest daily / weekly step count might have been. I’ve pencilled in 2k steps per mile ( I’m 5’10”) average, but perhaps this is a bit low? Be interesting to get some feedback from any runners with Apple watches / Garmins as to their steps per mile.
