Yes, I understand what you mean.

It's seeing it as a negative and smaller as opposed to a positive and larger.

It's the same with Widescreen's

Some people will simply always see them as a negative, and think the display WAS taller, but it's top and bottom have been chopped off and lost.

They seen unable to comprehend that you CAN also see this as a positive and MORE screen has been added to the left and right of the older format display.

Nice designs:

I hope Motorola will work on a V2 of this watch

Yeah. The other comparison (the one I quoted in my earlier post) has the screen inches meassured horizontally which is a huge ****ing error.

The square in that comparison has more inches since inches are meassured diagonally.

Only thing the other comparison proves is that a screen with more inches displays more content, but not that a circular screen of the same inches displays more.

I also hope for a v2 with better battery because I want one :)

I guess us old people will be able to communicate in code to keep the younger generation from knowing what we're writing. We'll use analog for times and write in cursive.

Can anyone under 30 crack this ancient code and decipher this? (Most likely written in all emoji.)

Likely, the aWatch will be a hit, and they will offer it in a bunch of configurations in future generations. Apple didn't want to sell a small iPod or a big iPhone until other companies were successfully doing so. Right now there's no reason to copy anyone as no smart watch is a hit.

This is a great start for apple and we should be happy that they are offering far more configurations than any other product they have ever produced. If they had round ones too, there would be people complaining they aren't making ovals.

Must say, I could go for this.

Even more so with an even better strap :D

That is beyond tacky. Real tacky. As a watch collector, I don't tolerate bastardized design. That is suppose to be a traditional 2 register chronograph but does not have the chrono pushers. It reminds me of all the $40 Walmart watches that look like Chronographs but when you look at the dial, the sub-dials do exactly the opposite (a 24 hr complication, a day of the week, a power reserve). Exactly, how do you set a chrono and reset it? You need at minimum a 2 pusher (which Apple watch happens to have- crown /pusher).

Secondly, all the 360 dial ripoffs are beyond ghastly and intellectual property theft. I doubt Breitling, Sinn, Rolex authorized those reproductions as the type faces are totally wrong on everyone I see. Rolex, Breitling have DISTINCT typography and the 1st tell tale sign of a NY Canal Street Chinatown $10 knock-off is always the typeface on the dial. Cheap, innacurate dials = $10 chinese knock-off. What does that tell you when you see the same on a smartwatch.

The difference with Apple, is they'll probably secure the licensing with the YSL/Burberry/Heuer hires. We will see Burberry Straps and Coach dials on the Apple Watch. I can bet on it. Marc Newsome is on board and with the executive bench they have, they have the clout.

I think we're stuck with the square Apple Watch for at least a decade or two, until Apple degenerates into a has-been, like the parade of once-great corporations, e.g. Blackberry, Sony.

you are saying a square Watch is going to bring down Apple because you prefer round watches. I want whatever you are drinking.

Exactly. So not only are you saying that Apple's downfall will be a square, rather than round, watch... but that it will take a decade or two for this to occur? You're right, Apple may "degenerate into a has-been". That's kind the standard in tech. But it certainly won't be because of a watch design decision, and IF it were because of a watch design decision the degeneration wouldn't take 10-20 years to occur.
