I mean seriously. Just look at the iPad, and all the amazing things it can do and just appreciate it.

But... there is nothing that iPad can do that other devices could not do long before. So, some people can prefer to enjoy and appreciate those amazing things on other devices (which BTW more often than not do it better than iPad).

I saw this today and it really pissed me off.

Why do people get "pissed" when someone else doesn't like something they like? Why do you care what some blogger you've never met thinks? How does it possibly affect you in any way?

If anything, the more vocal the critics are about the iPad's shortcomings, the better the chances Apple will take note and work to improve it.

Plus, if 100 people read that article and decide not to get one because of it, that's 100 less people in line for the 3G next Friday.

Huffington Post has been, historically, anti-Apple. They also are also, historically, inaccurate. They employ idiots who just graduated from high school.

lol +1

But...let's not overlook the fact that some of the complaints are the same things that everyone else (including many people on this site) is talking about. The device is a great one but not a perfect one. We shouldn't expect anything to be perfect.

OGDaniel and the hundreds of thousands of new iPad owners, don't be alarmed by this article....it's dated APRIL 2, 2010. A full day before the launch!! ALOT has happened since the release of the iPad on April 3 up to now. And I mean this in a good way for Apple. In fact, TOO GOOD, they had to delay the Worldwide launch because it is SOOOOOO popular here in the U.S.!!!!
:D:apple::D:apple::D:apple::D:apple::D

If anything...Huffington Post is the one who FAILED!!!

Actually the author graduated from Princeton. Huffington Post and Michelle Malkin.com while at opposite ends of the political spectrum are famous for Enquirer type articles and should never under any circumstances be given any credence.

Can the ipad do that? It's the best internet browsing experience, right? Can it beat that silly internet browsing functionality on a "stupid netbook"?

I think the biggest issue people are having with the iPad is that they're trying to find a reason to buy one when there isn't one. It's a device that isn't for everyone out there, that's a fact.

But the fact that people are trying to find a reason to purchase one means they trust Apple products and WANT to buy them, not need.

"Users won't be able to view video on sites that run Flash, including Hulu, Disney, and ESPN."

WTF?!?! I can't watch disney on my ipad?!?! Psh, im returning this garbage.

LOL.

Why do people constantly lay the whole foundation of the internet to Flash? Flash is for games and irritating ads.

Well, all I know is I disagree. I bought a new Dell Inspiron Mini last month. I have not put a single program on it. I just needed IE with ActiveX, and cheaply... so I bought that for $300. It's the WORST computer I've ever used.... and all I do is browse to ONE website (my CCTV remote login site). The computer is slower than molasses. I don't know what kind of a netbook you have, but all the ones I've played with are junk.

I have a Dell Inspiron Mini9 running OSX 10.6.3 and a Dell Inspiron Mini10v dual booting OSX 10.6.3 and Windows7 Professional. They both run fine, so it's clearly a personal problem causing your issue and not the device. :D

Heh Ive had a total of 4 netbooks (Asus EEE701,900, Aspire One, AsusEEE1005ha) in the last 2 years and have had 0 problems and they have been fast enough.

I am a past (and future) owner of an ipad and realize that the ipad stands on its own. I cant wait to get another one.

Four in two years? That could be interpreted as a diagnostic indicator of the value, durability and functionality of the superior netbook design. Already stated but the iPad is purposely designed to be something other than what is already out there. Mr Gates obviously misses that but, then again MS has always been woefully inadequate at innovation.

heh it could be, but it could be I am a gadgets geek, 701 needed a bigger screen, the 900 needed bigger hd space, the acer aspire needed bt, and my 1005ha well it needs a touch more screen resolution, but I think Ill keep her for a while

the only thing that bothers me is that u wanted to post this thread. we dont care, the ipad is not supposed to be a full fledged net-book. its an in-between a mac and an iphone. its more iphone now but it will change. and the slate will get less attention because everyone who has a laptop and a smartphone will be less likely to buy a slate.lets see when the slate comes out like a many other netbooks if its slow as s*** and breaks easily then we will see. and the fact that its obsolete thats a crock, apple is always cooking something up, like the iphone if u want to get the new ipad when it comes out then like most of us sell ur old one and get the new one. some people will stay because they are happy. and the thing on flash the world is moving away from flash u really cant play computer games on ipad any way regardless of flash and if not that its adds and i don't want them. so i could right on and on but ur not worth any more of my time:mad:

If you think that than just test it in real life. Go to someone's house and start telling his wife that her kitchen is terrible, you have read somewhere that her dishwasher is piece of junk and that she made her lunch inedible.

You guys may not like the source of the article, but the points raised are valid. I agree with many of them and they're the main reason why I'm not jumping to buy an iPad at this point. Some of you guys need to take your blinders off.

The point is without Apple the tech world would be really boring. Where would the portable music world be without the iPod. Where would the mobile phone world be without the iPhone. They push the envelope to develop products we don't even know we need. The iPad will evolve just as the iPod and iPhone have. Everyday people are using iPads in ways nobody could have imagined. New generations of the iPad will evolve to do more and better things faster. Apple leads the charge. Don't bet against them. You'll lose!

Some good thoughts in your comments, but personally my money is on google. They are on all US carriers, and are catching up to Apple quickly due to that. Apple cripples themselves by being on one US carrier. It will be interesting when some android tablets come out at a price point $150 less than the iPad. yes we live in interesting times.

So each had deficiencies. Very inefficient use of resources imo. Shame you couldn't accept them for they were.

Google is no doubt Apple's biggest competitor except it's a different business model. I wouldn't bet against Apple but that's your choice. Regardless, Apple is hardly crippled as you suggest.

How many more iphones would Apple sell if they were on Verizon? How many Android handsets would not be sold if Apple were on VZ? Thats all I am saying.

lol, well I'm certainly not going to refute the personal problems comment, ya know... but yeah I'm telling you this new Dell is horrible. It's performance is the worst I've ever seen. It boots fast, but then when I open a program on it, the thing will just fiddle fart around and freeze up. I'm wondering if it has to do with the fact it has Windows 7 Starter on it. I just chalked it up to the fact it had ANY kind of Windows on it! :D

Do you think it will be problematic to leave it running ALL the time though? I can turn the display off, but the computer needs to run to allow me to access it through LogMeIn (so I get get to IE) when I'm out flying. Ideally I'd like to just get some older desktop that someone has lying around, but this will have to do for right now.
