I'm a real estate consultant. I travel quite a bit, so the weight was a big issue for me. I do mostly light work on my Air, so the heating issues haven't been a big deal to me. I mostly use Safari, Mail, and iLife and iWork, and the occasional movie.

Currently I'm living the care-free hobo lifestyle & trying to go to school.

Before that I was a Slot Technician at a casino for a couple of years. Mainly use my MBA for light duty stuff - interbutts, email, music, movies and class research. Bought it because it is so light and small that it is easy to take to school with me and back and forth anywhere else that I want. I never imagined taking a laptop as many places as I have with my MBA

Air owner:
MSW (Master of Social Work) doing counseling, but primarily the business is focused on Domestic Violence perpetrator treatment. We run group sessions, do individual counseling, and assessments. Most of our business comes from contracts with Native American tribes and DSHS, as well as court referred clients.

We also do the occasional custody evaluation, and work with the occasional juvenile sex offender.

We complete our supervision in July (hooray!) which will make us LICSW (Licensed social worker) and can then bill insurance legally in Washington state.

The Air has been PERFECT as it is very light and portable, but has no compromises (that's right I said no compromises) for the functionality we use it for. For us the important things are quality display of good size, and full size keyboard for typing. 'performance' isn't an issue. Connectivity isn't an issue. Expansion ports aren't an issue.

The Air is *perfect* for us.

Rome, Italy.
Run 3 companies.
1 is a software company. Yourcostcenter.com I travel a lot giving seminars, using the Air for emails, powerpoint, Ichat, (so I can stay in touch with the wife and kids) and use Netsuite (on Safari)for all company marketing, CRM and accounting. Use Firefox for all our programs behind the scenes controls.
2 is a commercial painting company. Use Excel, MYOB, Filemaker Pro.
3 is a Ballet School with my wife. Same software as above except Quickbooks. instead of MYOB.
Since Feb., I only use the Air. I have the SDD drive and have no issues whatso ever with room. Still have 29GB left.

Only issue I have is temp. case gets warm and fan kicks on alot. But in no way a deal breaker.

You run a ballet school, fantastic, my wife and I are starting a Summer Ballet School here in Italy for next year.

More students than CEO's here. Glad to see another MBA myth busted.

I am a technical Project Manager (software implementations), so I have to create alot of documentation. OmniPlan is pretty amazing and generate everything in PDF's to ensure compatibility with my windoz using compatriots.

I sell business accounts to business owners in my locale. Air is great. I dont use it to do much work, but occasionally use it to look up stuff when i get a client who likes to ask questions, and upload sales results and check targets etc. I only wished it had built in 3G so i wouldn't have to plug a silly dongle in.

I am a sales professional who travels 3 out of 4 weeks a month. I could not live without my AIR. Read the review in my sig for more on how I came to be an owner, what hardware I was using, and how I am using the Air.

Oh, and I also attend online courses working towards a four year degree.

I'm an interactive designer and do some photography. I use the MBA mostly as a surfer, but also occasionally for work on the go. It's a great machine and I've had no problems with it so far.

I'm a..

...conductor/locomotive engineer. I live out of a back pack and in hotels. The MBA is the perfect solution for me. It's the only computer I have at the moment. I would like an imac for the condo, but I'm never there. We have to carry a big stack of rules with us out on the road. I was able to download all of them from my employer's website, thus eliminating more nonsense I have to carry with me. I am a very happy, overworked, tired individual...
-Great idea for a thread BTW.

I am a Software Configuration Release Manager for a large independant e-gaming company. Whilst we don't use macs beyond the developer level I do use my MBA to remote into work when I am at home/off-site.

Nursing Student

I own a MacBook and I bought an Air for my Fiance is who will be starting nursing next year at UBC. They have campus wide wireless and I figure she would of been doing a lot walking. I think what you get out of your purchase has to do with how much you use it. Thats the Air real strong point. ANd she loves using it.

Graphic Designer. I use the MacBook Air for presentations... So lightweight to carry around and the clients love it. Great conversation piece :)

I am a software engineer and student. School is heavily unix/Java based, so OSX works out great for compatibility; most of my profs are using MBPs, or laptops with Linux on them.

Unfortunately my development work is all on devices with custom Windows-native controller software.
