Right. So that seems to be available in iOS. Unless we are talking about something else.

The top bar of the Apple Watch has a red dot saying there is a notification. Tap on that and see all notifications and are able to acknowledge and clear all.

On the iPhone if you have multiple pages of apps and customized reasons for having a badge you will not be able to tell if there is a notification worth acknowledging unless you open each app.

So that exact style of notification doesn't exist on iPads/iPhones unless you consider badges on individual apps the same thing a as an icon at the top of your phone/tablet stating there is a notification to address similar to android.

So you are talking about having a small generic notification icon/indicator that would be present in the status bar if you have any notifications?

Exactly.

This style of notification exists on the Apple Watch and android and jail broken iPhones and theoretically on any phone that has a notification led like the BB.

Not sure why it's only included on the Apple Watch.

Another thing iOS could copy from watchOS is the option to turn your screen on when you physically turn the screen up like the Apple Watch.

Might not really be an issue but saves a tap/click on the home button from turning the screen on. Could possibly help with some of the complaints about the touchid unlocking new he phone too fast to see notifications.

Some of that could have something to do with different screen technologies used (AMOLED vs LCD). The other parts are just something that's never been in iOS--status bar indicators for notifications, or what mode the phone is in (vibrate/silent/etc.), etc.

I just think it'd be just as useful on an iPhone as it is on an Apple Watch

If it said "search" I would have thought it was searching my phone instead of settings. To each their own.

Really? Do you have that problem when you're searching in Messages/Mail/Contacts/iBooks/Podcast/App Store/iTunes Store?

Literally every search bar in iOS says "Search" except for this one example, I don't understand why it's different.

I would love to see Siri's train of thought when offering me 'Siri Suggestions'.

At the moment, I feel like it would look like a giant roulette wheel with a couple a dice rattling around, being spun by a clown tossing a coin.

The glitchy 'will it, won't it' nature of erasing all content when resetting the phone. I only noticed this after doing a reset all settings and having my phone freeze on the Apple logo. I ended up having to do a DFU restore because a hard reset just brought the Apple logo up again and stayed there.

Then it took 6 attempts to DFU restore as the restore kept failing part way through with iTunes bringing up an error code. I honestly thought I was going to have to take it to the Apple store! After it loaded up I did an erase all content and settings just to see if it managed it and it did, but the procedure was very glitchy and buggy with lots of screen flashing etc. I dare not try a reset all settings after it froze on the Apple logo last time and cost me several hours of work reloading my entire system.

Search in settings is new. Made sense to me. The only other search I do is mail (I have spotlight turned off), but I've been doing that for so long I ignore the verbiage.

Anyone know how to flip the app switcher so the home screen card is on the left and apps stack up on it on the right?

I hate the safari scrolling lag. Chrome is better on iOS 9. Thats not the case on iOS 8. Prefer safari.

Not something that has an option.

Want to take a stab at why it changed? It doesn't seem to streamline productivity. On a smaller screen it might make identifying what an app was doing easier to identify, but on my 6+ it just reduces visibility.

No real stab at it aside from that's what Apple decided it to be. Certainly a number of threads discussing it all:

Data app switches in settings won't turn on and stay on on my iPhone.
Swiping from the right side on my iPad brings up quickview instead of navigating in safari.
It's a stuttery mess on my iPad mini 2 and has slowed it down.
Selecting text for copy and paste is all kinds of screwed up.
Great wallpapers were removed.

I don't like that you can't swipe to get cc or nc from the app switching screen without a confirmation swipe

pretty sure you could before 9 but sorry if mistaken
