My mom pulled on an ethernet cable in my PowerBook and broke the plastic that latches the connector in. Doubtful that it could be repaired without a new logic board. Bugs me every time I plug in an ethernet cable.

That sucks. It's like that on all of our laptops at school because people are so used to them being wireless at whatever middle school they were in before they went to my high school... oh well they're dells who cares. :p

Here's mine:
  1. When my parents turn off my surge protector thinking that my comptuer is off (because the fan in my mini is off and they're used to really loud PCs)
  2. When people touch the screen
  3. When people resize my dock
  4. When people have greasy hands and then use my computer
  5. When people can't figure out how to use "Mac mice"
  6. When people use my computer - period.

Hmmmm.

iBook:

Scratches WAY to damn easy.
Battery hangs out a wee bit

imac g5
the fact that i don't have DVI :(

that's it, nothing major

My biggest pet peaves are:

1) Touching screen
2) Anything on desktop
3) Everything must be organized perfectly

Touching LCD screen(one of the main things i like my friends CRT screen)

Crash before you save(has not happens to my since i got my 1st Mac)

having a useless Apps on your dock

1. iTunes needs to be perfect
2. People using my computer
3. Nothing but the HD icon on my desktop
4. Not knowing what is taking up HD space...

*(Munching bag of chips) "Mind if I check my mail on your computer?"
*"Look, right there. (touches screen) What's that?"
*"Um what's wrong, the printer's jammed, again. I've hit print three times, already."
*"Don't worry. I won't spill it." (Places drink next to laptop)

ooo Drinks and laptops are the worst. My cousin is absolutely horrible about spilling drinks. And yes, he has spilt a drink all over his laptop keyboard...It was a Dell laptop and they had a repair service man come to their house to fix it, and he didnt tell him what happened. The guy takes the keyboard out and just says "Hmmm, it's a bit sticky, did you spill something?"

this notebook doesn't have a del key and that is VERY VERY frustrating...

It sure does have a delete key, hold down 'function' (fn, bottom left corner) and press the delete button and voila, your delete button becomes a real delete button, not just a backspace mis'labeled.

Cluttered desktops drive me nuts, my friends wifes' desktop is FILTHY. She has at least 30 icons stacked on top of eachother in the top left cause the rest of her desktop is covered.

I get bugged when the finder preview beach balls on me cause I highlighted a big video clip. I know I can minimize it up, but if it's down... too late. Just have to wait for the beach ball....

I also hate coming home from working 8+ hours in photoshop on a PC only to find myself trying to use ctrl (v)(c) etc and it not working. I hate that my hands got used to working PC shortcuts.....

Apps unexpectedly quitting.

Someone else using it when I want it.

When things don't work as they should.

1. Touching my screen
2. Littles pieces of stuff that get in my speaker grills

Basically I just want my MBP to be clean and tidy, simple as that.

1.People (especially brothers) changing my preferences
2.people resising windows so they're tiny when i come to use them!!
3.Having so much music in iTunes that on shuffle it takes about 3 minutes to find a song i can listen 2 for more than 30secs!
4.Clicking on an icon in the dock and opening it when i just want to reselect an open window
5.Not having enough money to buy the things i want for my mac!:p
6.Motu not releasing a Tiger update for Digi Performer 4!

I'm another for touching the screen.

Ironic actually as this thread actually prompted the discussion at uni about how a friend and i don't like our screens being prodded. This prompted a girl opposite to get her thumb, and literally force the LCD part of the screen as hard as possible to make that "pretty colour pattern".

Well...I couldn't believe it. It took an HOUR for the LCD to go back to the same, and there is still a colouration now.

I cannot believe it...

Add me to the "People touching the LCD screen" list
Another pet peeve is people at work plopping papers on top of my powerbook.
Hey, here's that heavy, thick file you requested -"thud"

I think the only appropriate response to this would be using your thumb to make the "pretty color pattern" appear on her forehead. :p

I'm glad this thread has resurfaced, btw. It makes me feel much less OCD about my powerbook screen.

Also I don't like it when my keyboard gets dirty, I have the mac white one so it is really noticable.

i don't know whether safari has this feature, but in firefox you can have it warn you when you attempt to either close a window with multiple tabs, or quit the application when multiple tabs are open.

I LOVE this feature. It's the only reason that I still use firefox over safari. Every once in a while I hit the "close window X" instead of the back button; that feature saves my butt.

sometimes the computer peeves me ;)

power tower 180...hard to get into to replace anything

homebuilt PC with windows 98...slow bootup time, also hard to get into but i expect that for a pc tower of that era

clamshell ibook...heavy

compaq presario 1272 notebook...heavy, bad battery times, and rubber feet keep on falling off

dual G4 power mac...noisy

intel imac...not fully jiving with tiger on all things

My boyfriend is always touching the screen on my iBook. It makes me really cranky. I also hate it when he "maximizes" a window. I have all of my windows set up in specific spots and this just throws everything off. And then, dear god, when he holds a goddamn cigarette over the keyboard! I should keep him away from my iBook. As is, he isn't allowed to use it without my supervision. He's always spilling beer into the keyboard of his computer and ruining it.

G4 Peeves:
• People dragging things off my dock.
• One year old Radeon 9800 makes a lot of fan grinding noises.
• CDs not coming out when I eject them sometimes.

8600 Peeves:
• Internet Explorer 5.0.2 is being the latest browser for Mac OS 7.6.1.
• Internet Explorer 5.0.2's color themes not coming in "beige" or even a standard look to match my 8600 setup.
• Photoshop 5.5 not reading GIF images, including the ones it creates. This is a very mangled installation of Photoshop on my part.

1400 Peeves:
• WTF is wrong with my mouse. Applying pressure to different parts of the laptop registers as a mouse click-and-hold-down for some reason. Really have to figure that one out.

8100 Server Peeves:
• Couldn't have asked for a more reliable server. Yay for AppleShare IP 5!

I'm yet another person added to the no-touchy LCD list. I clean my LCD (Woo Monster Screen Cleaner) at least twice a week just from little bits of dust that may gather.

I don't like people using my computer, they like to add icons everywhere.

People who say macs are slow and can't play games. Especially when the person is running a celeron with 32 megs of integrated and I've got a 256 dedicated with dual-core processing.

People who get confused when they don't see a start menu on my computer and wonder where windows went.
