Just popped open a Smithwick's, pronounced Smit-icks.
Speak English you fool!
How the &%$!# do you figure that? That's as silly as saying the river Thames is pronounced, "Tims."
Had a dinner party tonight... imbibed a:
Sauvignon Blaunc
Pinot Grigio &
Chardonnay
Ha! Purple Rain, Prince should sue! It's ok. I think the boyfriend bought it for me a few weeks ago. It was just hanging out in my fridge.
I had J&B in my Rusty nail as I don't tend to mix my single malts. But I do have a bottle of Bowmore 12 yr old that I dip into every now and again. Your right about the Drambuie cost, here it's $40 for the 750mL bottle and you really have to try to drink it all before the sugars crystallize, that's why I'm ok with the small bottle.Bowmore and Drambuie = very good taste.
Pity Drambuie is so bloomin' expensive tho. I haven't had that in years.
After a day of meetings and prepping for a class I have to start teaching next week, it's hard to beat a bit of Mr. Walker's Gold label (IMHO).
Gold Label!!??
I only know of Black, Red, Yellow and Blue.
Where does Gold fall on JW scale?
Is it smooth or is it more peety...or something completely different?

Oh I have a bad experience with Laphroaig 10yr old, it's just way too peaty for me (like somebody smoked a peat cigar and exhaled it all into the bottle) . If you're a scotch fan and want to try a very well balanced, smoky scotch (so it's still for the more 'developed' palate) try Lagavulin 16 Year OldI have a Bowmore 12 year also, and for Islay malts I prefer Laphroaig. My dad bought Drambuie ages ago, and because he doesn't drink a lot it did crystalize a bit. He drank it right up after he saw that happening
