In a coffee shop.
I only discovered her because of some friends (one of whom is a musical anthropologist) who traveled to Cabo Verde for work.

That day, the taxi driver very kindly wrote down the details for me - at my request, and to my considerable gratitude. Candidly, I would have found it hard to recall it otherwise - I was dashing between two meetings.

Actually, I got the sense he was a bit surprised at my enthusiasm for this wonderful music.

I love chance discoveries of good music!

"Bitter Heart"

I've known about Seona Dancing for a couple years now and am still trying to wrap my head around how much Ricky Gervais has changed.

Das Boot, right? Not the Lana Del Ray thingy... ;)

Yes, Das Boot.

Sit in a bar - well after closing - nursing your beer, (or wine), whereupon some spirit in a bottle might also make a fleeting appearance, shot glasses lined up on the counter - with some German police or military colleagues, and - inevitably - at some stage, on such a night, - we might have been working together over the course of several months - someone will produce an iPod, and ask for it to be hooked up to the bar's speakers.

That is when we hear "Das Boot", and a low voiced discussion as to its merits, - script, acting, historical authenticity, production values, music - will ensue before migrating to other, even more interesting - but related - topics.

I have lost count of the number of German colleagues who told me that this is their favourite movie of all time.

Alright, now that we've got that out of the way, time to even things out a little and mellow out with -
Jackie Mitto and "Macka Fat"
Sooo dope...
Ghetto organ being one of my fave cuts.
