Graduated to listening to some classic stuff from Genesis.

A bit of back story for context. I grew up with C&W around me, so obviously I rebelled against it during adolescence. In university when others would say "I love all kinds of music, except for country.", I would smile and concur trying to "fit in".
Been commuting for about an hour and a half a day for the past few months so i tuned into the local "new country" station, as one does in the land of the free and the home of the brave, and this is what I found....
I reckon country gets a bad rap these days. I was pleasantly surprised with with what i found, especially lyrically.
Cheers
PS> hoping to see some more eccentric country recommendations
Don't you and Alive and Kicking would be two of my favourites.Simple Minds, a great group from the 80s and 90s.
Apparently in September. I figured they were calling it quits about 9 months ago, but apparently not. Hopefully their current effort is better than their last one.new lp?

The breakfast club. Great movie. Reminds me of all those detentions I had!Yes, I love "Don't You Forget About Me" - great song, also; if memory serves, that song was part of the soundtrack of "The Breakfast Club" (a movie I quite liked).
"Belfast Child" is also excellent.

Agree. And none of my detentions were that interesting.I'm laughing reading this.
However, while I wasn't the sort of student who was put in detention, I did think it an excellent, surprisingly thoughtful and very enjoyable movie.
