Just finished listening to Gordon Lightfoot, he does have a nice voice.
Not related, but we attended a Greek wedding of a friend several years back. What a wonderful experience. So much traditional folk culture is still practiced today.Listening to a CD of Greek and Anatolian folk music that a good friend sent me.
Imagine if there was a way you could find out what a famous person looked like by looking up their full name.
Charlotte Gainsbourg's newest song:
Not entirely sure how I'd like it without the video. Her vocals are nice and I like her descending melody. The synth production doesn't quite work for me; however, since my first listen was accompanied with this video, I suspect it's left a significantly stronger impact on me than it would have on the radio. I already want to watch it again -- a certain sign that this will become an earworm, what with that melody scoring this sentimental (and to my taste only modestly saccharine) narrative.
Strictly song-wise, I prefer the title track from the album:
audio quality is only so so...

reminds me a bit of laurie anderson ...
If it starts on my iPod/car stereo/iMac I sit and listen to it in it's entirety. No matter what i'm about to do I let it finish.
Also, solved my new car stereo issues. i bought an iPod Nano. no more "unplayable files".
You see, Old School sometimes does work better.
(Ironic how a Nano is now seen as "Old School" - and "reliable Old School" at that); I recall a time it was a stunning cutting edge device.
And keep in mind, I just bought it! I have a shuffle, my wife has a shuffle, and the kids are current with their stuff, i.e. they have newer phones or newer iPods.. I just got this Nano and I love it.
Music to unbox the iPad Pro that just landed here... Let's see.... ok, so... Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man. No less would do for the folk who designed, made and got this thing onto my porch this morning. I'm psyched!
