Went a bit humourist/folksy here.

After going back and having a listen to Chris Hadfield's cover of David Bowie's Space Oddity (still an amazing rendition), I found out that he and his brother, Dave actually have released an album or two in Canada.

So in looking for that, they made a little folksy song laced with some humor ... well... about Canada. So enjoy!

#41, Live from Centrum, Dave Matthews Band.

#41 is my most favorite track of all DMB's songs.

Bryan Ferry's (with the Bryan Ferry Orchestra) delightful homage, nay tribute, to jazz and other related musical forms 'The Jazz Age'.

It is a real - and all too rare - pleasure to be able to a genuine maestro show his mastery of - and delight in - while paying tribute to music other than that through which he made his name. And, his take on some of his own stuff channeled through the medium of classy jazz is just sublime.

Great stuff, beautifully played, and a genuinely lovely album.

An Apple Watch thread was discussing the practicalities of wearing a Pebble smartwatch on a beach (sand, waterproofing, etc).

... and that got my old synapses firing in the direction of "Broken Stones" by Paul Weller:

Paul Weller said:
"Like pebbles on a beach :)
Kicked around, displaced by feet
Oh, like broken stones
They're all trying to get home..."

Nice way to chill out for the weekend.

Someone mentioned a breath of fresh air. Happy to know that the first thing that popped into my head was one Ottmar Liebert.

While any fan of his would immediately flock to stables like 2 the Night, Heart Still / Beating, or Barcelona Nights, Well.. have you ever had that vision of going or experiencing somewhere that you haven't been, but those visions are so vivid, you can picture it, even though you've never seen the place?

A walk down a lush road or a walk around Santa Fe does that for me, taking in the fresh air and how naturally wonderful a place can be. With that, Snakecharmer and Verano De Alegria / Summer of Joy do that for me, along with Ballad 4 Santana. the first two are here, while I'll post the third later.

In a coffee shop.
A night of the Beatles, and vague nostalgia, strolling down lanes of mental memories……melancholic, wistful and warm, in turn….

The 'White' album, Rubber Soul, Abbey Road and Sgt Pepper's have all been keeping me company this early summer's evening.
