Her first two albums are on my "25 desert island" list, and her sophomore effort Pirates is on the top ten. Very quirky vocalist, but when she sang all the harmony parts in that same "quirk", and they lined up, it created a magic not heard before nor since.
Here, she doesn't have any background/harmony vox, and it's okay, but not her best work. It's more a torch/jazz standard album; glad I have it but not the bright comet we saw 45 years (yikes!) ago...

I can't wait for this album to come out. I really dig this song! It makes me sad, that he has mentioned this is it... this is all he has left. I know he is getting up in age, but it still makes me sad.

David Gilmour - The Piper's Call

Thank you for posting this; I checked, and am up-to-date on Gilmour, but didn't realize another album was coming out.

This past 6 weeks or so it sure seems like all of my favorite musicians are having birthdays, and they're all... up there (as am I). Knopfler, Gabriel, Townsend, Fripp, Nicks, Fogerty, Bonham... so many more.

Saw on a news site that the NYT posted an article about the musical impact of Taylor Swift vs The Beatles; although I didn't read the article I chuckled and thought, "Oh boy, Rick Beato will be here soon", and he was:

This may only be of interest to the musicians here, and they're already familiar/subscribed to Rick Beato's channel. But, it may be a good background info for anyone interested in how the music business works, today and 60 years ago. And the identification of "pop artist" as a "creator", rather than a "musician", never occurred to me before but is spot-on!

And yet Rick Beato sponges off beautiful Taylor as he could have just made a video about The Beatles themselves. The Beatles would have not be enough for a clickbait which proves that Taylor is definitely bigger.

Oh, I love these guys. I discovered them when I was 18 and in college and they’re the only band from back then that I still play regularly.

Every now and then I go searching for interesting covers of their songs and I’m surprised to find that little known country music artists seem to like covering them.

There are some really interesting country covers of their music. If you search Bandcamp for Countryfied Jesus and Mary Chain Tribute you’ll find one of the better collections.
