I'm always grateful to be introduced to classical music, I find it a bit tricky to get into. I have to be in the right mood for it, as I am far too plebeian. But I do appreciate it. I'll check this out.
I believe @Scepticalscribe posted this awhile ago.
Man is it beautiful! Listened to it yesterday while my son took his turn driving us to the beach.
Mannheim Steamroller‘s electronically orchestrated classical gas album is pretty excellent too, and while at it, the Fresh Aire V album is a dark gem.Classical Gas - Mason Williams.
As a child, (and teenager, and student), I must say that I loved this track.....and it took me ages to find it as a 45 (rpm) - single.
And now, for a piece - well, two pieces - of classical music that I think superlative (and am currently listening to):

Yeah 20 is a doozy, I was in a pretty bad accident with that on and 20yrs later every time I get to that point in the recording my brain still makes my spine tingle uncomfortably. Weird. Still worth it tho.W. A. Mozart - Piano Concerto No 20 in D Minor, K. 466: Romance.
it's such a visual piece of music, it's like an ancient science fiction fantasy imagined by greek gods and godesses, translated trough a french impressionist painter and relayed in the form of some eternal ballet
I used to listen to this piece all the time as a kid!! I still love it!And, now for yet another piece of classical music, one of my own perennial personal favourites:
W. A. Mozart - Piano Concerto No 20 in D Minor, K. 466: Romance.
Stunning, superb, sublime, sheer magnificence and magic represented in music.
@rm5 - if you haven't listened to this, do yourself a favour; it is wonderful.
Oh my god, I never saw this! My apologies!! I will listen to these in the morning!@rm5, you might like these two superb pieces, - the last three minutes of the 2nd Movement Adagio are exceptionally powerfully moving - and may I also recommend them to @pachyderm.
