Looking for a compact and more portable rig.... highly tempted.

Wireless earbuds. I know I will lose them. Better off w/ over the ear. Likely to wait until the next laptop I boot for the first time turns up sans an audio jack. But the Air Pods do appeal...

In the meantime my little Jawbone BT speaker wants to resign and I haven't chosen its successor either, so there seem to be a few audio-related toys on my list of things to resist.

So far I have successfully resisted the temptation to buy an Apple Watch
I really only want it for the notifications, but I would prolly appreciate some other things after I had it
But I just can't justify the price because I would want the top of the line (shrug)

Also can't bring myself to buy AirPods either
I wouldn't get near enough use to justify them, and yet, I would like to have them

What sort of luck? Problems with devices failing or something else?

Something fails yeah. The touch on the iPad Pro is not working flawlessly like it did. It'll act up on this site and others, touch won't work in Procreate etc. After several DFUs etc. the issue always comes back but cannot be replicated on demand. iPhones, various hardware problems (battery, WiFi connectivity etc.). No drops except for this 7+ (I've dropped this 7+ more than any other other iphone I've had since the 4s), something always goes wrong in about a year except for this 7+ LOL. I take care of my tech, but the build quality has gone way down hill.

My WiFi drops on my 7+ from time to time to. I'd always blamed it on my router though.

These were physical drops, the only time I lose connectivity is when our WiFi goes out or on LTE during certain areas of my commute.

Back on topic, I am trying to stop myself from buying a drawing tablet and software.
A nice Wacom. I'm thinking the same myself. I'll probably pick up a second hand one from work though. Just need a bigger desk!

In the tech sphere, a new 27” iMac to replace my current mid-2010 model.
I really don’t need it. The 2010 works fine, especially since I added an internal SSD.

Of course, it won’t accept Mojave. And it won’t unlock with my AW, like my MBP did (sold that recently). And... there’s probably another thing or two the old one won’t do.
But I really don’t need it.

I’d really be better off replacing my iPad Air 2 with an iPad Pro.
But I really don’t need that either. The Air 2 works fine.
And so on.

The garage, however, is a different story.
I’d really like a garage. Two car. Nothing fancy.
I really don’t need it.
But there’s space for one, and I’ve been looking at plans...

A PowerMac G4 Cube, a Ryzen 2 gaming rig with a Vega 64, a 30” Cinema Display, 128Gb of DDR3 and a dual 3.46Ghz CPU to max out my favourite Mac of all time: my trusty 2010 Mac Pro.

I am resisting the urge to sell my Canon lenses and reinvest in Sony lenses. I have a metabones adapter for my A7rIII, but the autofocus is great on one lens and not-so great on others. The reason I haven't is because the price of Sony lenses is comparably high on some and outrageous on others. Still trying to stop myself from doing it, though.

I am leaning very heavily in the direction of going with a Sony A7III but haven't done so yet because that camera is continually back-ordered in just about every camera place around the country! I will have to sell at least some of my Nikon gear in order to help fund the purchase of the camera body and the lenses that I want, because I am not keen on the idea of using adapters and such. I have an adapter that I've used a few times with my Sony NEX-7 and a couple Nikon lenses and was never really happy with the results. If I go Sony full-frame it will mean going Sony all the way with native lenses....
