Any place but here or there....
Actually, not keeping myself from buying...

Seriously thinking about this course

I will definitely be buying a membership to Cornell’s lab as we cannot mount bird feeders on the property (It’s not our property).

What a shame. What about bird baths? Or houses? We put up a bird house for blue tits and had a pair nest in the Spring.
We get lots of birds. But my wife was feeding them 3 times a day. But as we are moving soon she is cutting down at the moment.

I can’t draw for toffees but good for my photography.

Unfortunately, we cannot put up anything (Feeders, houses or baths). We've asked. So donations are the best way for me to do something at the moment.

You're a wonderful photographer, hopefully you can keep that up at the new house (Taking pictures of birds and the Mrs. feeding them).

Well there should be more wild life in the countryside where we are moving to.

Of course with all the renovations it might be awhile until I get out with the camera.

16inch Macbook Pro.

My 2017 is working just fine outside the terrible keyboard and how bad it malfunctions but man I am drooling over that size upgrade and specs for a "decent" Apple price for such a monster.

A CarPlay system for my 07 Corolla.

About ten years ago, I swapped out one of the two CD players for an iPhone/iPod adapter for my OEM “premium sound system.” It still works as well as it ever did, which is honestly a wonder, given how many OSes and iPhones I’ve gone through since. It connects via a 30-pin-to-Lightning adapter!

But honestly, I’m ready for Bluetooth, wireless charging, and full controls.

I have been trying to talk myself out of this for forever. The thing is, I’m going to have this car for another several years, so it makes sense, but it still feels slightly frivolous, since my current setup works too.

If you're going to have it for a few more years, then get one.

I’m with @dinggus - Go for it. I recently did that with my 2011 Ford Escape company vehicle, and it is a really nice improvement.
Wish I had done it sooner.

Same. I'm about due for a new machine at work but we're a Windows and iOS shop so it seems unlikely I can get that approved.

Same for us as i had to bring my own Mac to work. I just submitted a request for new MBP. Hopefully it will get approved!

Only reason I suggest doing it, is because I'm in the same boat with my 2010 Mazda 3. My wife has a 2018 VW Tiguan and having Android Auto/Car Play is extremely nice. I think the upgrade will for sure be worth it since my drives are 30+ minutes long each way to work and back.

An oil painting.
Of horses, of all things.

A subject I wouldn't normally give more than glance, but the first time I saw this painting I was moved. It speaks to me.

We met the artist, and she told us the story behind it, and why she chose to paint it the way she did.

Now my SO and I are seriously considering purchasing it.

I have purchased several cars, although none recently, for less than the price of this painting. But it doesn’t seem unreasonable; it’s just more than we have ever spent on a piece of art.

We’re going back to the gallery on Saturday to look at it, and to decide.

If it speaks to you, then it is most certainly worth considering.

Absolutely. It’s just that purchasing it would realistically require foregoing other purchases for awhile, as we are not wealthy.

Such is the struggle.

A photograph, even from the artist’s website, doesn’t do it justice. So we need to stand in front of it one more time before deciding to either purchase it or let it go.

Well, the thing is, that if you really like/love a painting, one that speaks to you, it will be on your walls for decades; good art - or art that speaks to you - doesn't age.

As for other purchases, there are the necessities - things such as fridges, which are must-buys, - and then there are other things, which might be desirable but are not necessarily necessities.

My mother used to do that with paintings; go back to see them several times, imagine what it would look like on her wall, considering not just whether she liked the picture, but whether she could actually live with it long term, whether it would look well in the house, and somehow live with the other pictures that she had bought on her travels.

A loved work of art will outlive most clothes, cars, carpets, for example.

And ask yourself not just whether you like it and whether you can live with it, but also, how much would you regret (if at all) in a few years not having bought it when you had the opportunity to do so?

Haven't even really fully exploited what all my three new lenses for my new camera can do and yet I am already lusting after the Sony 200-600mm........ It'll be my next lens, that's for sure!

First up, though, has got to be the LG 24" Thunderbolt 3 monitor, as I really need a larger screen than I have been using now that I'm editing more images and images with more resolution.....

200-600. Sounds heavy and expensive!
