Just finished Dead Reckoning. While good, it was too short. Charlaine Harris is getting lazy.

Catching Fire! Though I must admit, I skipped the first book and just watched the movie.
I would have taken the time to read the first book even though you saw the movie.

The Moral Landscape - Sam Harris. Very good read. Good to see a discussion on morals based on rational thought.
I'd second that. They left out some stuff in the movie and the books are fast reads anyway. I started Hunger Games on a Tuesday night and finished Mockingjay that Saturday.

If this is your first time reading the books, you have an absolute treat in store. The books actually get better as the series progresses - CoS (while a good book) is, to my mind, almost the weakest of the entire series.

Yes, this is my first time reading them. Yeah, I can't wait to finish them. So far, I'm really enjoying them.
CoS in book form is the weakest but as a movie, it was one of the better ones in the Harry Potter series.
My favorites books in the series were "The Goblet of Fire" and "The Half Blood Prince"
They get better - and more addictive - as the series progresses. This is one series where the final book - unusually - is not an anti-climax, but manages to tie up a lot of loose ends and complete story and character arcs in a very satisfying manner.
I haven't seen all of the movies, but the CoS movie seems to be highly regarded. The book - while very good - to my mind, is eclipsed by what comes after.
I'm about to re-read HBP - and indeed, GoF, again; HBP is lying on my sofa as I write, and I must unearth (and re-read) the others in the series.
I suspect that HBP is one of those books which grow on you and is better after a re-read, especially in the light of what transpires subsequently. I loved PoA (but, again, haven't read it for years; GoF - which I haven't re-read at all, and OotP, when I read them). At the time, I remember being a bit disappointed by HBP - although I thought that Voldemort's backstory was brilliant. DH, of course, was an absolute tour de force.
I'm on the home stretch of Walter Isaacsons Steve Jobs biography. I've had it since release but I've only dipped into it during quiet moments at home.
It's been a fascinating read so far, just reading about the early years of Jobs and Apple makes it worth a look over.

Just finished up Hunger Games- a good but, too short of a read. It was good enough that I ordered the second two books of the trilogy. The premise of the story really generates anger. I'd really like to see some payback, but no spoilers please!
While waiting for those to show up, I just launched into Honor Among Enemies, the 6th of the Honor Harrington series. These books just don't stop in their lusciousness, that is if you like SciFi Space Combat. The author has really created an alternate universe with these stories. When are they going to make a movie series out of this??
